I thought that sti's are suppost to have an 8k redline but the sti in the user rides section has a 7.2 redline? why is that? Does that mean the engines are different too?
We have 95 unleaded.I see in the news that we are getting 97 unleaded soon.
That with some octane boost and I should be running 98/99 soon.
Should make a huge difference.(especially with the STi)
If your pump says 92, then the other number is almost certainly 98 (which is the number to which the rumours and specs have been referring). Petro-Canada's website has a good little explanation of those numbers...
I don't know if it's the same there but over here we have 95 unleaded a the coast and 93 inland at higher alltitudes. I heard from dealer that prodrive are to come up with solution for the 93 problem inland as the Sti cannot run on the fuel. Even here at the coast we had to sign a waiver form to state that we have to run 95 or higher otherwise will damage car. So it seems that the STi's bare minimum rating is 95 unleaded.
BTW I have learned that I cannot drive my car inland because of this problem. The cars inland will have different ecu settings etc.
You guys with 92 will ahve the same problem.
Is it time for a group buy on Japanese fuel?
