so will the east coast get the sti's first, or west coast? i know for evo west got them first, but 04 wrx's are showing up on the east first. anybody know? murley?
I may be totally wrong here but do subarus come into port somewhere in New Jersey? Is that why the east is getting WRX's first? I just thought i remember hearing that somewhere. You got an answer to this anyone(Murley)?

Re: Dealers that charge MSRP in SF Bay area?

First, no. they port in Oregon. West coast. I'm not sure exactly what's going on with the east coast getting them first. The only thing that I can think is that they don't have a west coast dist. center. I know that most mfg's that import vehicles have regional dist. centers where they stage their cars when they come in from port. Maybe SOA doesn't have anything close setup near the the west coast. I'm not quite sure...., I'll have to dig a little with my Rep for ya... :D

Subaru of New Englands port is in RI.I think Mid-Atlantic is in NJ.And yes,we got 04 WRX's before anyone else to the point that alot of you thought I was fibbing!Hard to say if that will hold true for the STi or not though.I hope so though as I do not get paid for selling any of them tell you all get em!LOL!

Sigh I just heard from my dealer today. I'm #2 on the list, and was told probably no car before August. They're being told by the rep that they will get no cars in the first allocation (early June), and they're expecting only one in July. They're also claiming that they can't choose the colors -- they just are shipped cars and I'll get offered what they have, but they might put in a word to the regional rep that they'd prefer blue/gold (what I want).

So much for all the stuff about being picky about test drives and miles on the car... Sure, they may be being pessamistic, but it's frustrating anyway. I'm going to an autocross school in late July, so I was really hoping to have the STi to get 3 days of expert instruction on how to best use it (coming from a stock Miata and never having driven an AWD car in my life, the cars will handle way differently).
