STiWant1,

That is a good article... I hadn't seen that one yet. I found it particularly interesting that Subaru purposely price the STi less than the EVO in Australia... hopefully they will do the same with it over here.

Yeah, I think that this is what we will see here in the states. I would be interested to know if there are any differences between this STi and those that are sold in the UK.

You have to remember that the HP figure is really just a number. Even the Japanese version is under-rated in order to meet their suido government HP limitation. Even if we do only get 261HP over here, this can easily be remedied by adding a boost controller, AFC fuel computer and / or removing a cat or two, etc... We are still getting basically the same turbo, intercooler, intake manifold, and engine internals as the Japanese model. Not to mention the 6spd tranny, Brembo brakes, and suspension (inverted struts, etc). The point is, these cars are very easy and cheap to extract HP out of, just like DSM's and Supra's. Who know's, we may actually find out that once someone dynoes as US Spec STi maybe the 261HP is an under-rated figure and the actual flywheel HP is greater than what they state.
