Well I knew it would happen at some point, but my car was violated with under 500 miles.

I was in Costco in Sterling VA for less than 20 minutes, and when I returned, the back STi badge was completely ripped off, and they attempted to rip the back off but just broke it.

Luckily they didnt mess the whole grill up.

I got some pics on the front page of my website, http://www.usdmsti.com

::sigh::

Savages, what I can't figure out is what those bastards will do with the f'ed up badge? I mean now they have to buy some seriously expensive 3m foam tape or something to use it.

It will probably wind up on their honda too

 SOB's I live in the area. Did you call Loudon Police?
Now do I just leave my STI in the garage and just take it out on Sundays for a pleasure drive!
Yeah, their was a Sherrif up their already arresting some punk for stealing. I actually asked him to see if he had them, but he said he had already frisked him and he had nothing of the sort.

He took a report, and said their wasnt anything he could really do.

I just need to order some new badges tomorrow, and not park in public I guess? :: shrug ::

Sorry to hear that man! Makes me wonder if it would happen to me if I had that car? Sorry, I promise it is the last time I will mention that I could've had your car :)

This makes me nervous about my EVO. Some jackass could decide to rip off my badge to complement his Mirage with a bodykit on.

Unfortunately, alarms don't do much good for vandalism (or car thefts for that matter). Just gotta park where it's more secure, if possible. Someone took my Honda badge a while ago, but I never thought that Subaru badges were vulnerable too...

ack! oh, the humanity. this sucks so badly. i feel your pain. now i'm going to be freaking out since i park in the open at the university. i guess i should place an order for extra badges...and maybe i should put 'em in a box next to the car with a little sign "help yourself, but please don't touch the car". :~

I had my badges of my Honda ripped off twice in N.VA. I think this area is pretty bad for that. I wonder if a super motion sensitive alarm would help (i.e., one that makes noise if somebody comes w/in a foot or so of your STi). I am serioulsy thinking about that because sounds like these STi badges are hot items.

That sucks. I mean, what kind of lowlife would do that? You can find those badges on eBay for $10.

I have always intended to remove the WRX badge (too much clutter), but I might take of the STi as well to prevent the paint damage.

I'll be on the lookout for Ford Probes and Honda Civics with STi badging.

Be on a lookout for ricers with the "Type R - Sti - Evolution" badge combo. They usually follow the "single wiper conversion" mod.

:)! i often wonder what goes through the head of the rebadgers. do they think they're fooling anyone? does it make their car look cool?? does it make their cars faster?? sometimes i think i live in a completely different universe than those guys.
