STi's in New Jersey

I just went to my subaru dealership, Jim Burke subaru in downtown Birmingham, and they were $6000 over MSRP!! :x :x

so basically i told them they were nuts and that they were probably not going to sell any of them (the evo's here came out at $5000 over and none of them sold untill they went down in price).

anyway im not worried about it becuase i have since found 3 of them at MSRP or close to it so i guess it sucks for Jim Burke ill take my money somewhere else

though when i told them this they just laughed at me and told me "good luck on finding one msrp!"

what a bunch of a**holes

Schaumburg Subaru in Chicagoland had 4 STI's on the showroom floor on Thursday. They had them all priced for $36,500.00.....5k over sticker. They sold 2 of them for that by the end of the day and had the other 2 on hold for people coming to buy them. I was pretty disgusted. Also how the F**K do they get 4 extra STI's to sell when my dealership only 40 miles away doesn't get one DAMN STI for me who placed a deposit on it last year......thats what the hell i wanna know. Shouldn't Subaru have taken one of those and sent it just a little ways down the road to a dealership that had it presold instead of giving an extra one to Schaumburg so they can rape someone for 5K over sticker!!!!!!! We need to start a dealer boycott list cause Schaumburg was not the only dealership i found charging a markup!!!! Peace!!

x, my dealer told me they made an agreement with soa to take a few "undesireable cars" in exchange to get 2 extra stis in the first shipment, for a total of four. my dealer says they going to sell those two at $37k. the annoying thing is that i'm 3rd on the list, which means that although they'll get my car (white/4ji), they're going to mark it up, which means i have to wait another month and *hope* the one they get will be what i asked for. :(

Got my STi in Houston yesterday.

well i assumed i was going to have the same problem before my dealerships cars came in so i just called every subaru dealership within 500 miles of me and within 24 hours i came up with 3 different sti's i could pick up for msrp (though one was $500 over msrp but its close enough..) all you really have to do since noone has one is call around and ask to be notified if the person that ordered the car doesent pick it up... it seems to me that if the poeple with orders dont take the car its not going to the next person in line but whoever walks in the door and asks for the car... i found 2 out of the 3 that way
anyway just my $.02

Oh man thats gross!! I want Blue/Gold on this car. When i called around on Thursday i found 2 dealerships that had them on the floor for sale. One dealer had theirs marked up 5K and the other had it marked up 2K. Three dealers had Blue/gold's coming in 2-3 weeks that weren't presold. One dealer was marking it up 1K, one was marking it up 1.5k+installed sound system(yuck)so a total of like 2.5K, and the last dealership was selling it at MSRP. So I jumped on the last one and that is now my car. :D Now i have to get my deposit back from the dealership 1 mile from my house that won't get it until late July. They are giving me crap about it so I am going straight to the general manager on Tuesday! Peace!!

Anyways, I am going to look at the Sti this Tuesday trying to convince my wife :).
Just hang tight in there, you eventually you will findan STi at MSRP.

At least I can reassure them they are nuts for asking so much, lol

Yeah, I'm from birmingham as well and the guy at Jim Burke told me 35K. I looked at him like he had an arm growing out of his head. I went down to the Mitsu dealership a few days later and they were selling the Evo at MSRP. The subaru dealers are on drugs.

giovanni i live in birmingham... and i did have a deposit down but the way they handled it down there was really wierd.... they didnt order a single thing and they had no contracts.... and besides that they would never tell me a pirce for anything they just kept telling me "well if i tell you one price and it isnt that price then i will look like the bad guy" all the time telling me it would MOST LIKELY be at msrp.... anyway they talked around almost every question i had like any good sales men would.... the only problem was that they talked around them so much that i got nervous and developed a back up plan.... which landed me on the top of the list for 4 different sti's (and that was only 3 days ago! so yes they still are out there if you know how to talk to sales men) and all at msrp....

oh and mn1028 i went to the mitsu dealership in pelehm a week after they got their first evo's in (and acutally convinced them to let me drive the yellow one) and they were charging $5k over msrp..... though they didnt sell any of them untill they went down to msrp... they even offered me one at below msrp but i dicided at that point that i didnt want one....

is anyone finding any sti's in bham for msrp?

Re: GOT MINE IN CALIFORNIA!!!!

That is okay, they can ask a million dollar if they want :).

Yeap, there's 4 EVO at Pelham and 3 at Center Point (all for MSRP).

I will give them a month or less before they start selling at MSRP. I was like a desperado trying to buy a 350 z some months ago before I learned it had quite some faults. This time I am taking my time but no way in hail I will pay above MSRP.

I rather get the Cobra 2003 before paying premium for the STi.
