Hello, I want to put together my own e85 kit and find someone to tune it with ecutek. There are options I have seen some kits at $4200! Trying to do this cheaper. Just need some guidance on parts.
Stock turbo, tmic
Will have downpipe (which), catback, uppipe, intake (which)
I know injectors and fuel pump

Thanks

Just get the cobb kit ~$725. You'll have to adapt the sensor to your stock lines though. Might just need a single QD to QD? Downpipe depends on your year model, but the VSC downpipe is probably your best bet for 15+ Intake is personal preference.
First off. What are your goals. Start there.

what does that ecutek kit come with for that price?

Also. It’s a good idea to hardwire the fuel pump and get lines with e85.

I was just thinking of purchasing an ecutek kit. (find a tuner that can dyno or etune it)
My goals are to max out the stock turbo.
Would love the option of e85 for power. There are several stations around me that have E85 flex fuel

The cobb e85 kit ? I still need injectors, pump, fuel rails, FPR, fuel lines. Should I piece those together or just get the cobb kit ? My year is 2020 sti. I was looking at the map performance intake ?

Ok. What is the ecutek kit. Cause you’re saying price but idk what it comes with.

and if all you want is power I assume you’re not racing? I suggest a lot more research.
You can buy Cobbs flex fuel kit with only the sensor, lines to hook it up to their rail and line kit, and wiring.
You would just have to sort out a way to plumb up the sensor to your stock lines. You would still need to source the pump and injectors yourself though.
You won't need aftermarket fuel rails or lines with a stock turbo even on e85.

How would I go about tuning it ? ECutek or cobb ap? I would get the cobb 1050s, aem 340lph, 3 port ebcs, modify the stock fuel line ?

A ecutek programming kit. Find a tuner that tunes with it. I found its $750 the ecutek and license
Not racing just want power on some back roads when I want it

Add a fpr (fuel pressure regulator) and it’s wise to a change the lines out, iag makes a good fuel line kit.

so far a tuning. Find your tuner and go with whatever they prefer. Most will prefer the ap.
What Karlot said, 100%.

Look at the Cobb kit that just got released, IIRC, it comes with everything you need for the full blown kit. I think the only thing it may not come with is the AEM 340 which I would recommend getting.

But also what Karlot said is true, in terms of goals. What are you wanting to get out of the car, are you wanting to race it, have a great street car? Daily driver?

Maxing out the stock turbo will do what for you?

I have heard that it you can get around 350-380whp on e85 and 320-340whp on 93. So with the car only bening on stock tune and its fun. I think all of that will do me just fine for a fun daily driver that's still reliable. I do not want to go crazy with it. But when I saw the price tag of $4200 for the nexgen....
You may want to look again, there might be some things you may not need such as:

1) Cobb AP
2) Cobb Intake
3) Fuel Rails
4) Turbo Inlet
5) Intake Airbox
6) Spark plugs
7) TB Coupler
8) Vehicle Badge

^that. I’d argue staying on pump gas with an 18g would be more fun than a stock turbo on e. Especially if you’re only wanting a street car

I’d say those numbers are accurate on a dynapak dyno. Aka a hub dyno. But that’s high for what all 3 of the local dynojets put out.

QFT.

Nevermind the power, putting that down is what matters the most. I would look into suspension and tires as well. That makes a TON of difference.

Yes I am only wanting a street car. Just to have the fun there when I want it. I just figured having the fast spool of the stock turbo on E would give me what I am wanting. Would an 18g be the only option? 20gxtr, dom1.5xtr ? and would aem 340 and 1050cc injectors support those ?

The stock turbo spools fast. But it falls off soooo hard up top. It’s too small to carry boost. Hence why I think it’s more fun to have a wider powerband vs just a maxed stock turbo. I have had both. While the stock turbo is fun for sure. My 20g is much more fun (mine is only pump gas).

on pump gas any of those turbos will be fine with the 1050 injectors. 1.5 and bigger might need more on e85. The 1.5 may be ok on those with e85, but I’d think that would be the limiting factor

Which turbo did you get? The blouch 20gxtr ?

I’m running a blouch 20g xtr, 8cm hotside, 3” inlet. With all supporting mods. On IAG’s dynojet it made 377whp/401wtq on pump 93
