Re: Mr. Apple's 06 WRB STI Timeline

brapp, it has been a great car so far. I do miss the amount of space I had in my last hatchback, but I've been telling myself that I was going to buy an 06-07 STI since around 2010. Just glad I was able to get one that was stock and low mileage too.

Re: Mr. Apple's 06 WRB STI Timeline -- My Wing Fell Off!!

Found a local guy that wanted to swap trunks. We've been in contact for the last 4 months or so while I was still in Korea. Made it home this weekend and got the trunks swapped over yesterday. Didn't have a whole lot of time to take any pictures due to heading to the inlaws' house shortly after but I'll snap some when I go out to work on the car in a few hours when it is day light.

Re: Mr. Apple's 06 WRB STI Timeline -- My Wing Fell Off!!

As much as I love the look of an STI with a wingless trunk and the roof spoiler, unfortunately I do not have one.. If it didn't call for drilling into the roofline of the car I would probably install one but watching Anthony Do (Youtube) do his scared me away from it.

The wife, kids, dog and I all made it to California on Wendesday afternoon. After one long weekend in a tiny hotel, we finally found a house. We move in this coming weekend. Best part of getting the house is that I get to setup my garage and tinker with all of my new parts and my old 1/8 scale RC Cars too.

Re: Mr. Apple's 06 WRB STI Timeline -- My Wing Fell Off!!

Installed the Perrin Turbo Inlet Pipe today. Such a massive pain in the ass to get the hose in under the intake manifold, I couldn't imagine trying to get a 3'' stock location inlet in there. Also did a few other things while I was under the hood...
- Perrin Pitch Stop Mount
- Perrin Recirculating BPV
- Painted the STI Stencil on the GrimmSpeed TMIC
- Perrin Master Cylinder Brace

Also found out either the dealership that I bought the car from or the previous owner swapped in a Tomioka Racing 16G Turbo (TR-TS1002), so that was a bit of a surprise to see..

Definitely noticed a difference from the master cylinder bracket. Contemplating going rotated and building the motor but haven't made any hard-set choices yet.

Installed the Perrin Reverse Lock Out Lever and Perrin Short Shifter Adapter this morning while the kids were napping. Going to install the Group N Trans mount, Kartboy crossmember bushings, and the Perrin Shifter bushings tonight when the wife gets off work.

Re: Mr. Apple's 06 WRB STI Timeline -- My Wing Fell Off!!

Well we finally got the last of our furniture and household goods from ND. Which means that all the aftermarket stuff from my old Volkswagen finally showed up. Went through and took pictures of everything and getting all of it ready to ship out. All that means is more dough to mod the STI!

Starting an OEM Twin Scroll setup. Ordered the manifold/uppipe, a TS turbine housing, gaskets, hardware, a JDM HKS Downpipe (Catted), and a JDM STI catback. Looking to install everything next weekend when it all arrives.

Re: Mr. Apple's 06 WRB STI Timeline -- My Wing Fell Off!!

Got my tool box and everything else organized now that the movers finally showed up. Didn't get to install the trans mount, cross member bushings, and shifter bushings last week when the wife got home from work... So I took the opportunity last night. Super glad that I did because my trans mount was broken, rear shifter bushings was completely mush. Took the car out this morning on a coffee run and I now have positive shifter engagement!

After purchasing this STI with just over 40k on it, I started doing research of different variations that were sold around the world. Of course I want the car to be subtle (as much as an STI can be) but still pack a hefty punch. I fell in love with the Spec C version, and bit the bullet to convert as much as possible on the car to what a Spec C has, or a better upgrade from there.

As of right now, the turbo setup is pretty much complete.
*Installed Twin Scroll Manifold and Up Pipe
*Found a Twin Scroll Turbine Housing to match the specs of the Tomioka Racing 16g Turbine wheel
*Mounted the HKS Twin Scroll Downpipe, modified with an additional 3'' Vibrant resonator to quiet down the overall exhaust system

Right now I am waiting on the OEM Twin Scroll Heat Shields to come in, and I am in the process of converting over to a 2008 STI intercooler and W/M system with a single nozzle injection.

This went back in.. dropped the starter on reinstall and pretty sure it's shorted internally. When I connect the battery positive everything is fine, as soon as the negative gets touched the starter spins with the keys out of the car until you remove the negative lead.

This got delivered before I finished up the clutch install and I couldn't resist getting it installed since I was off work..
