From the updated pictures on the Subaru website it looks like they have a radio in the car. In my opinion I do not believe they would post a pic like that if they did not intend it to be there.

Does anyone know if the car is prewired for radio? I doubt the dealership would have to install all the wiring also in the radio option. Just wondering since it would be a heck lot easier to install an aftermarket if the wiring is predone.

If you get a nice slim cd/mp3 player, you can put ur gages right under neath it since there is a lot of space....Possiblities..

i'm all for installing your own wiring, but it's nice to have stock wires there. i like to tape my wires to the end of the stock wire and pull it through that way. some of the wiring corridirs can be really tricky, even with a good wiresnake. never done a subaru though.

U.S. Evo production volume not limited

Most of us are would swap the system regardless, but heres my question to all of you:

Some of us are traveling far distances to pick up an STi. WHat do you plan on doing for hte drive back..?...a little boom box? or installing your system a block over from the dealer after you buy the car?

I won't be installing my system right away. Maybe a week or two after I take delivery of the car. I'll be listening to the sweet, sweet music of the exhaust. :D Or my iPod (or other portable music device) with some portable speakers.

I think with a good aftermarket system you would have to put better wiring in there.

Damn miked801, that's a great idea about threading the wires. I was debating doing the install myself but doing the wiring is what keeps giving me second thoughts. I will probably still have it done by a prefessional cause they could probably install everything in half the time it would take me.

Yeah it will be hard enough scheduling the stone guard install right away and window tint, so it will probably be a couple weeks before I get my setup done. I am thinking I will be sick  and won't make it to work the day I pick up my STi, but I woundn't mind taking the whole week off to break it in and get everything done. It will be hard sitting at work all day thinking about the STi out in the lot waiting for me. I am sure I will be taking long lunches for a while. Aaanyway... I wouldn't really mind being without a radio or something for a couple weeks, but with the construction on my route to work starting back up here today(3-1), and it's scheduled to last till October, it will be back to my 1+ hour 1 way commutes. So I have to find something till I get everything installed.

whuts up guys?! In reguards to some questions being in concern, i know that there is a prewired system in the car, so there for it will make it alot easier to wire up some speakers and a system in!

As far as the radio, i did sit in the car as many of you know, there was a cd player in the sTi i sat in, for chicagos car show and i did notice that there is one in the detroits show.

I also recieved a little inside info that subaru is thinken on putten a cd player in stock.....but then again i dont think its credible info.....but it did surprise me seeing the WRX cdplayer in the show cars, then again they might of put it in there to make the apperance nice to the public and the other manufacturerrs.?

So i hope my .02 helped out!

For me personally I have just got really into the habit of MP3's. Can't beat 6+ CD's on one, or the equivalent of 72+ in one of those 12 cd visor holders.

So for me, until Subaru comes out with a McIntosh In-dash MP3 changer :), I am going aftermarket... :D:D
