I have done some research but can't find anything about this.

Is there really a difference between version 2 and 3?

I have the opportunity to buy a V2 but was wondering if I should just man up and buy a V3?

Gauges:
primary in 60mm Clock Pod: wideband AFR Boost w alarm, Oil pressure w alarm

At the time I purchased I wanted them to match the dash so they are GD orange and analog. I'd reconsider an AFR /digital Boost combination now.

secondary: oil Temp and you cant do this one on an AP, water temp, exhaust temp. 52mm orange
DIN for me.

What gauges did you go for to match the GD cluster?

i have the v3 set up with the 6 gauge layout.
- AF Learning
- Boost
- Knock sum #4
-Intake temp
-fine knock learn
-feedback knock

what i really like about the set up is i can drive... i can blast and then i can look down and quickly see the "limit" of each gauge.
I can see my high boost, i can see how much timing it pulled, etc, etc....
I dont have to hook up cables, click log on a laptop, etc etc...

its nice and easy.

for example... if i get some bad gas i instantly know.
i spot it... then cruise till its gone.
I need to learn more about knock for it to be worth monitoring, but I am very interested in doing so. That way I can keep a closer eye on the engine and gas content like you.

If stock sensors were as poor as some here make them sound, them the engine would never be able to run using them. Seriously.

I never said poor or insufficient. Accuracy is the key word. When you're tuned to 20 PSI and pushing the turbo/engine to it's limits, overboosting is just that much more important to keep an eye on. A stock car will maybe overboost to let's say 18 PSI, not a huge deal. A Stage 2 car tuned to 20 PSI overboosting to 24 PSI is out of the limit of what the stock sensors can handle. I'm mainly concerned about modified STI's, not stock.

I have a v3 and currently a spt boost gauge but I'm getting ready to upgrade to the defi boost and oil pressure gauge. I plan on adding oil temp and afr in the future too. The AP is great to monitor a lot of other parameters as has been mentioned but some I just feel better with having a solid gauge to reference I.e. The ones I'll be installing.

Basically ya I may not have upgraded to a V3 from a V2 but it was my first AP so I just went with the V3 and love it.

Yeahh im about to hit redline but nevermind the tach... Time to double check the knock sensor intake temp and target boost all at the same time. Glad i paid $300 to trade in my v2. What a joke... That is what data logging is for. Buy some real gauges and get something useful. Trey cobb could take a shit in a box and some of you guys would pay and upgrade fee for it.

car is a daily driver.
I hit redline 0 times today, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and then on that day i hit redline... and when i did, i wasn't watching my v3 at all.

but then at the next red light... i did look down at it.
0 knock.
woo hoo!!!
