Not sure about the 15+ models, but STis (and I suppose WRXs and Imprezas in general) have pedal assemblies that creak over time. It's pretty common. The clutch pedal in my '12 hatch has been creaking forever. It's not too bad in the winter, but in the warm/humid months it's borderline too much. I've drilled out the spot welds, added a clutch master cylinder brace, and applied white lithium grease to both the pedal assembly itself and the clutch pin that sits under the intercooler. No change. Finally just bought a new pedal assembly but haven't had the time to install it yet.

Dude, my 2012 STi clutch pedal squeek is so bad. I checked the firewall welds and they are fine but it's so annoying
