Well guys according to Jason Murley, a Subaru dealer, from the above price thread, the cost of an American STi is $31545 USD. That puts our STi at $45767 CAD.

And since when you convert the American cost of the WRX into our dollars, and our WRX sells for less than that number, it can be said that our STi will cost less than $45K.

I originally heard from my local Subaru rep that the STi would be about 10 grand more than the WRX, which puts the price at about 45 to 46 grand, so the above estimate in our dollars of under 45K sounds resonable.

Please anyone post any trustworthy prices of our STi here in Canada.

Overall grand total after all taxes in Ontario I'm looking at CDN $55 722 from my dealer.. now to get the invoice price to try to bargain a bit !

canadiandriver.com offically posted STi is priced at 46,995CDN. Luckily I'm in Alberta, so only 7% tax for me, $50,000CDN to drive away...

Got an e-mail today from my dealer here - gave me a number of $48,795 CAD for the STi - they didn't say where this # came from but they would not have given it to me if it hadn't come from SOC. They are also selling at MSRP.

Hmm, no CDN invoice prices have surfaced yet so let me know what you guys think about this....

US MSRP = $30 995
CDN MSRP = $46 995

That's a conversion factor of 1.5162

US Invoice = $28 580
so maybe
CDN invoice price = $43 333

So ... do you think my dealer would take $45 k from me plus the destination charge ($1284) and taxes of course. Or maybe $45 495 or $45 995 ? Do you think that's pushing it ? He's had my $1000 deposit for almost 7 months now and knows how enthusiastic I am about this car (visiting every so often to discuss options, financing and arrival date and info/pics I got from the web).

Also, someone please post the factual invoice price as soon as possible or even PM me. Thanx in advance.

P.S. The Canadian exchange rate is actually 1.43912 and getting stronger daily so the STi MSRP should be $44 605 but I guess the winter package, radio and rear pass through made up for that price difference... although no HID ! Oh wait... new thought... maybe I could get dealer installed HID as well for the full asking price...(really pushing it !)

well .... driving STi away is actually $52,000. That's $46,995 + $1797 (freight, PDI, block heater, air tax, administration fee) and after 7% GST in alberta, it comes to $52,000 roughly ... tooooo damn expansive ....

I think I'm going for WRX now ...
