So, I was going to work thismorning and on the way I cruised by the Subee dealership. There it was, a beautiful site, a transport truck with 2 sti's. One of them was mine. I was driving within 2 hours but had to unfortunatly work for the rest of the day. Did manange to put about 35 km on it today however.

I won't bore all of you with a rendition of my driving experience other than to say it feels like there is a lot of power on tap but will only be able to truley experience after breakin. Steering feels great so far. I think 4th gear will be deadly. 3 and 4 feel very close. Breaks and clutch feel good. Significant road noise and some vibration (but thats what I expected) at certain speeds.

Anyways, I know some of you guys are interested in "sti" mats. And are looking at ordering them or even getting them custom made. So here are some pictures of the mats in my car so you can see. Oh yea, I got a pic of the key because I remember someone was asking about it. The underside of the mats is very grippy and the drivers side has a ring than goes over a spike to keep the mat orientated and secure. The rear mats have no decals.

Thanks for the pics, good looking floormats.

Please, never put something on your paint that has been even remotely near your feet. Small rocks/dust will scratch the clearcoat and even into the color.

Well I went down to the local car store and bought some clear plastic mats for $10. Its only temporary untill I can get my hands on some STi mats.

I just spoke to my subaru parts guy,asked him if they were interested in selling the mats into the U.S. ,they are not , if anyone has a problem getting these items ,get intouch with me, i will send them to you, my shop ships ups to the u.s. daily, payable by credit card, my sti will be here by friday, cant wait, :wink: :wink:

My first reaction was oh man not good!....when I first saw the mat on the hood. But you are right! To hell with everyone! You are the one making the monthly payments. and a couple of hundred miles behind a sand filled dump truck is worse damage than any floor mat will do!

Grow up and get over it. If you get that upset, about someone getting that upset, over something that isn't that upsetting, that is just upsetting. There is no need to fire off a salvo like that, *even* if the post that upset you was a flame directed at you personally. But yeah, you are right, I am sure you were careful, and even if you weren't, so what. Congrats on the nice mats! I am stuck using this set of 20 dollar mats that are currently shedding all over my floor until a group-buy gets set up.

(BTW, I think there might have been a dreaded comma-splice in there somewhere, maybe not. )
