I love the car and would seriously consider buying it if I didn't live where it snowed. However, not having 300 hp seriously bothers me. 300 hp is low enough to produce great handling but high enough to be seriously quick on a track.

My question for you is this. Having driven your WRX there to drive the BRZ, after your drive in said BRZ, would you trade in your WRX (with all its current mods) in place of the BRZ (stock) and never look back? Not counting future mods to the BRZ.

Well being a "modder" what you are asking me isnt fair...since I own a car that was STOCK 265hp and dyno's more like a 280hp crank car. I have then modified the wrx and you are asking would I trade that in for a BRZ and NOT modify it......

The more fair comparison would be a STOCk WRX traded in for a BRZ that I dont modify.

YES ,...I could trade a stock 2011 WRX for a STOCK BRZ. Will WRX's win in a straight line? Yep. But you can go straight forever.......and when it does get twisty....I am THERE in your mirror..YAWNING while that stock WRX owner sweats to drive 10/10th.

One main reason.......while the WRX and STI owners are "waiting" and "being patient" at turn in...the BRZ driver is turning in and SLASHING time off of the AWD WRX platforms number one achilles heel,...UNDERSTEER AT TURN IN.

Giving it credit where credit is due......yes when the road opens up the WRX will have its normal advantage....so it depends on the course/back road/canyon/parking lot.

The reality is my BRZ will be modified in a functional manner !

yay.

The reason I proposed it like that is the majority of owners like myself didn't keep their WRX or STi stock for very long before they did something to it.

Myself, I decided to focus on the handling aspect to make it handle like I've read the BRZ does. I'm still a ways off but definitely closer thanks to your yellows and sways (eventually if I keep the STI I'll get the Tarmac 2's). I'm sure that you've also done some suspension modding yourself to make the turn in turn and handling around corners more up to par with what we would expect from the WRX/STI platform. So like you, I have some time/money/love invested into the STI to make it handle like I want. Given those suspension mods you have (not sure what you have just assuming), does it still out handle our platforms in it's stock form and would it be working trading in the WRX/STi a person has put the effort into for the BRZ. I know everyone has different tastes and reasons for why they have an STi, but I'm asking from a pure driver's perspective.

Also what functional mods where you alluding to?
