If they want to do true comparison then they should have put the two systems as close to the same as possible. Same pads and rotors for both cars. What it sounds like to me is that they just wanted to play around with different equipment, but had to write an article to justify spending the money on the parts.

It's cool, they can hate as much as they want. All I know is tons of people getting at least 20k sometimes almost double on stock pads. For the stopping power and the extra security, money for pads seems like nothing. One other thing is they talk **** about the sti but stock it seems like the sti pads own the evo's on the street. Im not talking once they have been well warmed hehe.

hrmmmmm, I would disagree about anyone's pads owning anyone on the street. Too close to call...tires are a bigger factor.

On the track, it seems the EVO's pads fade later. However, any track junkie knows that neither car should be running stock pads on the track :)

I was just about to post the same thing about the tires. 235 v 225 and different design should be much more noticeable than pads.

No stock pads on the track? Really? Heh.

The tendancy they described about the varying feel of the subie brakes is true...the rotor/wheel deflect during no brakes cornering which pushes the pistons back into the caliper. Until I figured this out I was going to throw the brakes away and buy stoptechs. While reading on the stoptech site there is an entire article on just this phenomenon. happens to most vehicles even race cars...sticky tires=more deflection. The fix is easy just do a very light tap of the brakes, not enough to slow the car, prior to the full application. The evo doesn't exibit this because the hub/stub axle is more rigid during cornering...I guess that is also why evo's have such sharp in stock form. Don't let it get you down guys...

hmm the guys at the shop I go to are EVO guys hard core and they actually like the STi brakes (mainly the rotors). They said if you put hawks on an EVO and STi and the STi will perform and feel better.

That was a completely stupid idea by them as well.

"Hey, look, the brakes are so hot they are glowing! Lets sit here and let the hot calipers cook and warp the rotors on just one part of the disc!!!"

Complaining about the STi on stock RE070 radials to the Evo on R-compound Pirelli P-zero Corsas is just retarded.
"the very sticky Bridgestone RE070 tires still don't have the soft-edged envelope of a true R-compound"
really??? idiots...

Who actually wastes their time and money on toilet paper like Sport Crapact Car?

That magazine is one of the biggest piles of crap on the newsstand. The editors are absolute idiots.
