am going to a local dealer today. all i have negotiated so far is that if i give him a refundable deposit, he will guarntee me a car @ sticker.

i am going to call around to all three of the closest dealers, and see what i can find out.

anyone else around boston want to talk about this? i wonder if even a few of us got together and walked in to give our deposits together if we would have some collective barganing power, or at least could support each other in our dealing with the "stealer."

hey there,

no one knows. let's face it, most car dealers are jerks, and they lie.

I talked to at least 8 salespeople , inclusing 3 sales managers, and they all either do not know, told me not to hold my breath, or lied to me in order to get my deposit.

i went to Norwood Subaru (jerk (Chris Dunn) offered me a deal, but went back on it the next day so i left, Matick Subaru (andre told me they would be in in MAy, and he would put me first on the list, then another sales persone told me he was full of shit, and they would go 2000 over list, and then the sales manager (orfio) told me they had no list, and discouraged me from leaving any deposit. then i went to cityside subaru, and Art was nice to me, but they would not give me the price i wanted on a 2003. So i went to Ira, talked to Kevin, still did not get what i wanted for my 95 M3, but the deal was reasonable, so i bought a 2003 wrx.

i tried calling the place in acton, but they guy never called me back. (i have no idea what you need to do to get a straight answer!)

really made me mad.

so, until we can get some straight answers, I just bought the WR Blue 2003, and some prodrive wheels...

i'll trade it in as soon as i can.

e-mail me back if you want details, or tell me what you heard; i really would like to know.

Boston/Price?

All ive heard is that the STi isnt coming out until June in the USA  but i guess akk good things do come to those who wait. anyways i was wondering if you had any idea which of the dealers you went to might sell for close to MSRP, or r they all being the usual rapists? ... best case scenario, i get a '03 blue sti ... but that all depends on $ and availability, you have any idea what the cost will be around? like 30's 60's?

call brad, the sales manager at Ira in danvers MA. you could also call Manny or Kevin. in any case, I trust them at their word to give it to me for retail (lately rumored to be $30.995 + tax, dest. etc.)

my family bought two cars there this year. So, please mention that Phil Getchell (blue 03 wrx) sent you!

i would really appreciate the reference.

good luck with the quest, or let me know if you want to buy an 03 WRX with only 6000 miles on it!
