Hello All:

Just a quick observation for what it's worth.

I'm not sure about the regular WRX but my dealer was prepping a black Subaru Forester 2.5 Turbo and the paint was definitely the same as the STi's - lots of gold fleck.

Cheers, Phun

This is late reply. Yes both were new Sti's. My wife noticed it then I took a closer look. I have read on other sites that the gold flake sometime dosn't show up in the black. I thinking it was either special order or done by the dealer....

I don't have an STI or anything....but I'm pretty sure that they don't have multiples of the same color available....that's a BMW trick ;)

one could've been an STI an one could've been a WRX, or they may've just looked different cuz of the angle or somethin ::shrug::

My wife bought one of the first STI's (Black) in Colorado, and the first one delivered at the John Elway Subaru dealership in Golden.

In the shade/at night, it just looks Black. But the first time we saw it in
bright sun . . . the gold flecks under the surface are really obvious.
We haven't seen another black 2004 STI yet to know if they all look
that way, but we both agree it looks way cool. Can't say she would have
ordered it that way on purpose, but since that's the way it came, it ain't bad.

She, like Henry Ford, says "you can paint her cars any color you want,
as long as it's black."
