one of my VW club guys had trouble bring a set of wheels over the border once. He got them through by saying they were his race use wheels (they did have rubber on them), Im sure you could say something along those lines, just make sure to say that they are your wheels and you are not selling them..etc.

As for the Made in Japan thing, I guess its possible that Subaru has paid BBS a licensing fee or something like that so that they could have the wheels produced in Japan instead.. Of course this kinda pisses me off if they did because now I don't have real BBS wheels.

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought until I was rotating my tires one day and looked inside the rim. Said, made in Japan. I was wondering why Subaru would put a German wheel on a Japanese car, guess they didn't :) .
