According latest tests, STi reaches 37-38 mph on 1 gear, 57-58 on second, 78 on third and 101-102 on fours. Thus, 0-40 requires 1-2 shift, 0-60 -- 2-3 shift, 1/4 mile 4-5 shift (I guess, because it reaches 1/4 at 103-104 mph). It's fine for me but I think they should change axle ratio to 4.0 or 4.1 in order to have better numbers 0-60 and 1/4 mile (it's too late to change gear box ). Just idea :D

Ah....you've got the same damn mentality that the corporate people have. I have a 6 speed in my Celica and the gear ratios are all screwed up because someone wanted to make sure you could make it to 60 in second gear. The gear is now useless because it is so tall.

Rally heritage says nice and short is the way to go. Screw the corporate benchmarks...... It's when people who care about what a magazine says get into high places.....that's when a car company loses focus on the important things.
