on speed tv....

I haven't get on the list or anything yet as I'm not in rush or anything, but plann to in July. (but if necessary I wouldn't mind put down deposit to safe secure my order's availability in July)

So, I jus started calling up dealers (around Los Angeles area) to check for availability and most of them don't really even have waiting list or anything and one of them even have couple in their show room? And most of them are starting with MSRP haven't hear any mark up yet.

Any other So-Cal guys wanna comment or post their shopping experience by far if they already star their hunt :D

yeah, that, too.

and big thanx for JJ, Scooby, murley and other guys for sharing their information :D

but, I have been following the forum for awhile and in most cases I'm more informed then the dealer that I called. and there is no region dedicated room, so I was thinking to have a thread dedicate to the people in the region and share their experience.

by far only Culver City Subaru dared to say that they have STi in stock and can fill any customization you want from their wherehouse. I'm very skeptical about that as all other dealers barely have enough information to answer my questions. Oh, well I'll find out once I get there :D

maybe they meant wrx's not sti's???

Yes please very, other wise I would be interested in making a trip to So-Cal. I am from Miami and the dealers here are all saying the they will have the at 35k. Which do not intend to pay unless it is my last resort.

as I called today both sierra and timmons don't have much clue about STi, by far I'm just telling them the MSRP price I saw from subaru.com and I haven't heard of any mark up yet as it's still fresh. The dealers haven't make a pact or something together to raise the price, so still quite unclear of what the price will be, but of course starting with MSRP. As always if this one doesn't I'll just turn to the other one.

I e-mailed and called Irvine Subaru's Desiree and hasn't get reply from them yet. ~~ so, don't know about Irvine Subaru.

Have you talked with Desiree or something when you get on to their list?

I have a deposit at San Bernadino Subaru, and I'm #11 on the waitlist (at least 3-4 months+ in waiting). Deposit at Timmons (#3, but they probably call everyone once the cars are in). I also have my name on Riverside's waitlist, Sierra's contact list, and #150 at Irvine :( .
All of them promised MSRP,but I doubt it.

maybe I should go with the EVO?

IS2000

at least you are on the list, which I don't.. ~~

I think the possibility of sticking to the MSRP is quite high as long as the dealers don't mark up the price together. It's not that easy to act together for them, because there will always one willing to cave in to make the deal. So, make sure the availability first, then work on the price later as now the availability is the problem. But it might depends on rather you want in badly or you can wait for awhile :D

Best of Luck!!

Hey You guys

I wouldn't trust Culver City Subaru. They're a really small dealership, and when I was shopping for the WRX, the salesguy took me in it for a spin (I hadn't learned out to drive stick yet) and the guy was insane! He kept telling me how powerful and fast it is (I already knew) and how good a stick driver he was (which I didn't really give a damn). He showed me how fast by passing cars...in a 1-lane residential street! I was thinking if I get back to the dealership alive, I'm going elsewhere. Go with Irvine Subaru. If they don't know anything, then nobody else does.

Motor Trend say's the same thing EVO is the faster car!!!

SnowbordrWRX

thx for your comments I was doubting about what Culver city was saying as they were boasting to much ~~ (geeze, I guess they would do anything to have your bz) At first they even confused STi with WRX as they were giving me quote of WRX.

btw Snowboard I'm also changing from auto to stick you got any suggestion like take some lessons or just borrow someone's car and try it out to learn to drive a stick. @@

As people shall already knows that Irvine subaru has hella long list. ~~ There is another dealer in the same zip code, Lancaster Subaru. They were saying that they are at middle of nowhere and they can guarantee me the availability as if they don't have people on list for STi or so. Anyone knows about Lancaster Subaru @@

I talked to Lancaster by phone just recently (this week), and it seens as if they are killing for any deal to get you the car as most of the deals all gone to Irvine Subaru since they are close to each other. I suggest you call them to check for availability, and don't give in easily as they are your only hope. Threaten them that if they are going over MSRP you would rather wait with Irvine Subaru or something.

Who did you get the e-mail from?
I'm definitely going for the white one if it's not taken.
