Don't own an STi, but seriously considering it. Does anyone know if you can replace the shifter with something a little shorter (throw and height), and stick a new shift knob on it?

There are more and more 6 speed knobs coming out from places like prodrive. It looks like most of their 5 speed knobs are or will be available in a shorty version.

I had a VS 6spd shifter, looked great and made throws much easier (weighted). Its for sale if you're interested.

Well the Supra is a 6spd and has the lock thing for reverse also, so I am guessing as long as it screws on ok it could work.
