awesome find. like you say; large dollars. y'know, i was recently at a dealer for some work and they had a password on a *sticky* on the monitor to the subaru support site. man, i was tempted to jot it down. i bet it would have gotten me into this techinfo site.

wow man those are pricy...together the damage comes to $490.33, once apon a time i owned a ford contour and the whole service manual was one book...it fell of the truck (friend that was a service tech "found" one for me to borrow.

The best ones to have to get are the first year of a redesign, otherwise you usually have to buy all the "base" manuals then the yearly supplements. If someone has a 2006 or 07 STi and want's them, they will probably have to buy all those above then each year's supplements since they seldom re-release whole new books they just release updates, unless it's a total redesign.

I happen to know of somebody who has ALL of the manuals....Me. I got them for $20 straight from subaru. Here's a little known secret Every manual for Every recent Subaru can be had for $20. Go to techinfo.subaru.com and get a 3 day membership for $20 and you can download anything you want. I got the complete 2004 Manual set and STi owners manual. 
You will need a high speed connection and 400 MB of HD space and about 3 hours of click copy paste.

hey, i had a brainstorm. for those who have downloaded and organized the manual and burned to cd, i think it would be legal/legit if you send copies of the CD (we pay shipping/handling, of course) to people who can prove that they've already paid our $20 to subaru. subaru go their money. and you're not profitting on their copyrighted information, so soa shouldn't be up in arms just because we didn't individually commit 6 hours to downloading 1400 files. any lawyers in the group??
