Jack,
I am working with Valley Motors in the Baltimore area (I think).

The dealer I have been working with and sent in a deposit is Bill Kasper. I agreed to send him a $200 refundable deposit and he turned around and sent me my receipt. He does good business too. I actually asked for a refund when our BMW crapped out on us and we bought our 4Runner..but then promptly sent him another check after thinking things over again. Currently, I am #1 at the dealership. He is charging me NO MORE than MSRP.

Give them a call and tell Bill, Todd Allison referred me to you...maybe it would help either of us out.

I know I wasn't the first person on the list originally since I had to do some research as to where I might find a good dealer that was close to shipping ports. I am shipping the car to Germany since I am in the military.

I am now the first person on the list though..or so Bill tells me. I don't remember how many he has on his list, but he tells me that all "pre-paid buyers" (that is, people who have sent a deposit) will get an STi. He's already asked me preliminary color choices.

I'm on the "UNofficial" waiting list for Herb Gordon Subaru in Silver Spring. They will contact everyone on the unofficial list as soon as they have the exact msrp and delivery date so we can pay our deposits.

I asked my dealer if they were going to markup the car. He said that they will be making enough profit just charging MSRP.

Completed order sheet for their first STi.
Deposit: $500 refundable
Price: No more than MSRP to be negotiated when order number and options are established (their estimate $30k - $35k).

Got their first WRX in March of 2001, expect to get their first STi March/April 2003.

Ben Greer (703) 437-6000
Filled out a Buyers Order for a $500 Refundable deposit
Promised to sell at or below MSRP

I get there 2nd STi. They said SOA told them to expect deliveries in May-03, and they should receive the options/spec list in Feb-03. The dealer also said the STi may have the 2.5L engine  according to their sources... .but this is speculation

That's it.. Fitz is right next to White Flint on the pike. They are NOT taking deposits as of right now. All you can do is get yourself on the waiting list. Once an official MSRP has be released, they will notify ppl on the waiting for deposits.

I just put myself on the waiting list at Stohlman Subaru. I am #11. I am not sure how accurate it is, but they told me that they would be getting 75 Sti's per month into this region.
