i just visited my dealer to double check that he had my body/wheel color preferences. (good thing to; he'd called in the wrong info.) anyway, he has a sheet titled "allocation #1". i was third on the list of four people and only the second who'd specified color preferences. i asked, "so does this mean you're getting four in the first allocation?" he said "no, i believe we're getting *six*". he has no reason to BS me. so if anyone in the DC/norther virginia area needs to get on a list for the first allocation, give beyer subaru in alexandria a call. also, he said he's expecting pricing to be announced in the next two weeks.

perhaps others can talk to their dealers to see what their first allocation will be like and post this info. i know there have been comments on the forum that suggested few (if any) dealers would get more than one sti in the first allocation. here's one data point to the contratry.

Again, just from what my dealer told me.....

He put it like this. 300 a month, everyone gets 1 at a time until all dealers have gotten one. Then everyone gets their second.....kinda like dealing cards at a poker game.

There are a few real problems with that idea of course. First, this would mean you'd be better off to find some backwoods dealer who has no deposits and be #1 there while #10 in NYC has to wait forever. This doesn't seem to make sense to me...but who knows.

I'd really like to know how they are going to be passed out....starting to bother me not knowing.

perhaps, but that strategy makes no sense; it seems too...uh...socialist. :) come on, this is capitalist america. it seems that whoever is capable of selling the things should get the most. hence, a "backwoods dealer" should never get the same amount as the #1 wrx seller in the mid-atlantic, for instance. <shrug> time will tell.

For what it is worth, my dealer has confirmed the rumors that Subaru USA will be distributing the cars based on a formula that considers total WRX sales and overall Subaru sales volume (75% WRX, 25% Subaru volume).

This would seem to indicate that those in the top 3 at a major dealership stand a good chance of seeing their car by the end of June or maybe the beginning of July.

I am number two at a large dealership in MI so I hope this is true. I leased my current car and I need to turn it in by June 3!

I was talking to my dealer... (Backwoods) in Winnipeg Canada. The distibution of Sti's is a small scale version of the u.s. He said that they if you can be in #1 or #2 on thier list it should arrive in late june- early july.
Mind you, this guy pre sold 25 wrx's in a city of 800,000.
