So,
I was getting a custom alignment today and the technician accidentally damaged one of my ABS sensors. This triggered a CEL for vehicle speed sensor and disabled all the features that use the vehicle speed sensor. I am unable to select a drive mode, it just flashes the "s" for sport mode and if I try to select "I" or "S#" it just beeps. Hill start is disabled, abs is disabled, blind spot monitoring is deiabled. This makes sense to me, but one thing that is bothering me, is that my Accessport functionality is severely limited right now.

I plugged in my AP because I wanted to try clearing the code, verify my custom tune map was still loaded and be able to monitor some of my AP gauges while I wait for a new abs sensor. When my AP powers up, I can only access the troubleshooting menu and restore menu. I cannot access gauges or view current map/change map.

Is this behavior normal?

Just did some reading on the Cobb site and it looks like my AP is in recovery mode. It thinks it was interrupted during a map installation. I'm wondering if the alignment tech caused this when he plugged his own scanner to my vehicle to read the code he caused. Maybe he disconnected when it was still communicating with the ECU???

Going to follow the recovery procedure and uninstall my AP followed by a re-install. Hope this works or its going to be rough road with the Alignment Shop.

Ok, so pretty much a thread to myself. Uninstalled AP and reinstalled. I can now see everything and access all menus. The CEL is still active and I am not able to use I Drive system to select mode, but I just assume that is related to disabilities from the vehicle speed sensor failure.

dont feel so alone! i've been reading and munching on poptarts, but had no useful thing to add.

When certain CEL's are active, certain things get disabled. They can can have flashing lights all over the place and the car go into limp mode cuz of it. limp mode prevents going into big ole' boost and cruise control till u fix whatever u need to fix.

That is unfortunate the tech damaged your ABS Sensor :/ they gonna fix it?

ps: (which shop was it? just curious, if u dont want to out the shop, it's ok. can PM me or ignore, thanks!)

Yes, they had already ordered the replacement ABS sensor before the car was done.

Shop is really not important as it was an honest mistake and they fessed up immediately.

Just annoying that the part was not in stock so I have to wait till Monday to get it fixed.
