Anyone hear when the 2nd allocation is supposed to start coming around? Logic would say around the 3rd-4th week in June but I'm wondering if anyone has gotten dates from their dealers. I'm #2 and #1 bought there's around the 23rd of May so I'm assuming in the next week or two I may hear something!

TIA

Does that make sense? Technically ordering isn't part of the allocation process, because you're ordering a car the way you want it from the factory. The allocation process should be you take what you get. I thought that was happening at least one per month for most subie dealers except for the smaller ones.

Haha, SOA versus SONE! I guess that boat has a little longer trip. But I was just telling my friend last night it makes no sense how Subaru allocates cars. All the east coast should be covered by east coast ports, and likewise west coast by west coast ports. But, instead they ship the STi's across the country to allocate the mid-atlantic region. Not that I'm complaining, but we wonder why our economy is in such poor shape ;-)

It's sounding like there are a lot of dealers out there that won't be getting very many, if any, at all for the second and maybe even third allocations.... NOT verified, just a through the grapevine thing...

The dealer I ordered from (in Wisc.) rec'd two in May (first shipment), says they are expecting two in late June and have been allocated one extra to be rec'd within a month... and I'm only #10 on the list... Gonna be a long wait unless someone can't get financing or backs out...

Don't know if this will help at all, but here is what I know.

Dealer called last night and left a message saying that I would be able to pick a car from their next allocation. Keep in mind, I'm the one who keeps posting about how his dealer won't order a car, you just have to pick from what they get allocated.

Dealer said I would have 2nd pick from this allocation, and that there would be 4 to choose from. He wasn't certain on colors, but he *thinks* they are getting 2 blue/gold, one black/silver, and one white/silver. He said the shipment would be in "before the end of the month" and they just wanted to let me know so I could start thinking about financing options.
The first allocation at this dealer was 4 as well.

I don't know if that sheds any light on this situation at all, but I hope it helps.

For what it's worth, I'll probably be passing on ordering the STi this year.

See.....I don't think these dealers that are saying "Here's what I've got...now take one" are really working with you like they should. Why in the heck wouldn't a car company have the policy setup so that people get the cars they order?

People keep telling me "No, they aren't ordering yours...it's just luck that you get the right one". Well, if that's the case, then my dealer must be someone really important because of the two allocations he has received, he is getting the EXACT car requested.

Something else all STI owners should know...

My dealer is taking that approach though too. What comes is what you get a choice of. Now, in my case I'm not all that picky so I really don't care, I just want the car. The only big items in my mind are going to be a) getting MSRP as promised and b) trying to avoid any of those port options because I don't want a single option.

Lets just hope and pray that things continue as expected. The one bad thing about Subaru releasing the car so early is I don't think they were ready to meet the demand. I honestly don't see any value is depriving people of the car they really want considering they will make bank. What they should have done instead of this how many dealers sold how many WRX's formula is polled each dealer on the number of people in line they had and then allocated that many cars to each dealer. A lot more people would have been happy. Maybe there is something I'm missing here.

No offense, but I notice you represent a dealer. This is the same crap I've heard from a *few* of my dealers around here who want me to pay $10K over MSRP over. I don’t buy it. Its a good maneuver to try to jack up the price.

Call me when your selling at MSRP… I have lots of time, in fact the more the better.. but only when your selling at MSRP…
