255 35 r18 tire fitment

hi guys , i am try to get some ideas for my new Advan TC3 18x10.5 25 offset. i want to put my 255 35 r18 tire on it, btw i have 2011 sti. its ok to put this size tire on 18x10.5 rim? and what it looks like? thanks.

Talk to a member on here called T3h_Clap, PM him and he'll help you figure it out.

Make sure to be more specific though, asking if something is going to be "ok" isn't gonna yield you an answer. Are you trying to slam your car and getting a narrow tire on the rim so that it stretches and the rims fit? Or are you going to track your car and want a performance oriented setup?

I can't tell you that if you were looking to fit a wide tire with that offset then you will have a hard time. Rolling and pulling in the rear with lots of camber both front and rear. You've got a wheel that has good fitment for Evo's.

Please don't... Your contact patch will be so useless.

however since it's your car and your money, here's your answers.

18x10.5 with offset from 20-25 you will have good fitment with about 2 inches of the top of the wheel sticking out, however, with lots of camber (4degrees plus), lots of rolling and pulling, you can get it to fit flush up top. 255/35/18 tires will be a slight stretch but nothing crazy.

This fitment is 255 on 10.5 with federal 595RS-R, keep in mind federal tires come a lot wider than stated. their 245 fits like a 265 on an 8.5" wide rim.

This is what 10.5 looks like on a hatch with shit load of fender work.

This is 10.5 +15mm offset (tires at 245/40/18 Kenda)

Well my amateur advice to you would be to sell your rims and buy a higher offset rim. These rims have too low of an offset and I know guys with STis who had 18x10+22 offset TE37SL and complained about their performance at the track.

Honestly, buy a set of 18x9.5 +38-45 rims and wrap them in 265/35 tires.

My 0.02 until someone with more knowledge on this chimes in.

If you're going to track, your best bet is a 18x9.5 +38 set of wheels wrapped in 265 or 275, anything more is an overkill unless you're pushing 450whp+

Also money is better invested in better brakes setup

im pushing 400whp now. thank you for your advice, and yes i am saving $ now for endless brakes ^^

18x9.5 wheels with 275 tires, spend rest of your money on brakes, suspension and bracing. Although most importantly, DRIVER MOD; your mods are worthless without improving driving skill.

*I have no idea what kind of a driver skill you are at, but I recommend driving schools (track ones, not regular shit student ones) as it'll have the best results*
