That’s what I was thinking too. I’ve always had it planned in the back of my mind.

I need to get my engine hoist from storage.

I pulled the TMIC and popped the fork, it does appear to be the TOB. Hard to confirm as there isn’t a whole lot to look at. But something is definitely going on. I suppose I should stop napping and start working again lol

This is one hell of a way to do the engine mounts

I started messin’ with it today and decided I don’t have the time right now. Having a friend with a Subaru shop take care of it. Going to have the 4th cylinder cooling mod done as well.

I just recently saw this for the first time. This is a thing? Is there evidence to support a hot cylinder 4?

Yeah, I honestly had very little intention of doing it, and certainly have enough other things that need to happen. But the overall feedback has been positive. Dom is pretty well respected among "the groups" lol.

My car rarely ever see's coolant temps over 200, even on hot days. So either the thermostat just stays open all the time or... it's super efficient :-D

Also below video(Which i'll be honest, I haven't watched until today lol)

Good news bad news.
Got the car back finally, Clutch is installed it's pretty nice - got 1k miles for break in and then I'll see how it really is.

I'll have to pull the motor myself anyways because there are some oil leaks that weren't mentioned or resolved (not sure why, and I can't even talk about it with out getting mad) at the wrist pin seal covers.

So yeah

Super glad I got the car back /sarcasm

Ended up getting it installed a couple weeks ago. Only took about 20 mins.
So far I really like it, has a great hand feel, maybe even too much lol. For the first week I found myself inexplicably petting the steering wheel. I think I prefer round wheels as opposed to D wheels.

My Sparco 323 in the poop car was the most ideal steering wheel IMO.

Still have the car, it still runs mostly. Replaced the front wheel bearings, I hope to never have to do that again. Also replaced the battery with a 24F instead of a Group 35, tight fit but it does fit.. 750CCA and 900+ CA so we'll see how long this lasts.

Ended up putting coilovers in last year, and just installed some superpro caster + control arms as well. Need to get a professional alignment and see how the car does as opposed to the alignment I did LOL.

holy shit he's alive! been wondering where you've been. No updates for awhile haha
Yeah it's been a rough couple years for me unfortunately. Had a very unexpected and devastating loss in the family Jan 2020, if my motivation to get things done on the car before was low before... it's almost non existent at this point. It comes in waves, I only installed the rest of the suspension stuff because I had to destroy the ball joints in the process of doing the wheel bearings, so I figured now is a good time to do them lol.

The 242 Volvo project is at complete standstill, and it's just chillin' in my driveway.

I've been meaning to get the body work done on the STi, I ended up getting hit while I was parked and of course I wasn't there to see it. But I'd like to acquire a second car to drive in the mean time and take the daily necessity off the STi, but the used market is a shit show.

Nice Joebie! It is good to see an update from you again. I went back to the beginning of your thread and looked at the original pics. The newly powder coated rims look great.

I am also really sorry to hear some of what your family has been through.

Looking at the wheels, it looks like you have DBA T3 4000 rotors on there. How do you like them and would you buy them again if you were in the market for new ones now?

Cars been running a little meh. Started blowing out at high boost levels. Last time I had this issue it was fuel pressure related so I decided to pull the hanger and see what’s up.

I don’t think this is my issue, but it’s kinda gross.
