Im down for a meet. Just not too far. I've driven from so cal all the way to salt lake city UT. Dont wana do that again soon. It was a 12hr drive and ~2000 miles.

Yup, looks like a tad over 1k miles from Chicago to Denver, same for LA to Denver. Not sure exactly where JJ lives in CO though. Hmmm, 1k is doeable I guess, but I would really have to think about taking on that drive. Definitely possible though.

i drove to colorado once (well twice) from alabama.... talk abo hell... it was a 26 hr drive in a civic ex with limited air conditioning and no cruise! talk abo a nightmare......

However Colorado would also be very sweet. JJ would have to hook us up with a nice mountain route to take that would last about 6 hours or so of backroads.

i *personally* would encourage regional get-togethers first. when i was part of the se-r community, we had several regional meets that usually centered around autocross events. these are fun, relatively inexpensive, and gives lots of time to chat, etc. a national meet could follow in a year in a year or two since the regionals get "up and running". my $2e-6.

I agree with the regional idea. There's already a group that meets in LA...Roland Heights, I found out about it in NASIOC. Most of the owners are WRX drivers, but in a few months I'm sure someone will bring an STi along.

I'm willing to start planning on a "regional" get together although everyone across the country will be invited / included. I realize a lot of people may not want to put a lot of miles on their cars this early in the game, but hey, aren't we suppose to drive these things?
