Updated 7/7/11 with new mods.

UPDATED 7/4/09: Alright so, decided to merge this into a 2-FOR-1 SUPER SPECIAL Journal  08 STI and Evo 9!!

2008 Lightening Red STI
Date purchased: 7/4/08 @ Eastside Subaru in Kirkland, WA - good deal and they give free oil changes/loaner cars for life.

2008 STI w/Nav, BBS silver wheels, subwoofer, homelink rearview mirror, shock sensor alarm and all weather floor mats.

Round One Mods: 3-13-09 @ Surgeline Tuning in Portland, OR

Round One Power Results: 293 HP 337 Ft-Lb Torque
Dyno: Mustang Dynamometer
Outside Temp: ~50 degrees

Tim Bailey put together another map at 19psi but HP stayed about the same and torque went up 15 ft-lb so decided to run the more conservative map most often. They didn't run a baseline on my car but other stock 08's have been putting down between 220-230 HP and 250 ft-lb torque on their dyno so the mods were good for 63-73hp+ and close to 100+ ft-lb torque. Really happy withe power output, delivery and handling. From the dyno chart (i'll post later when I can get is scanned), the power delivery is extremely smooth and accelaration is just as smooth.

Re: Future 500hp supercar 08 Lightning Red STI

Thanks guys - hoping things pan out as well too. If you guys see anything that looks awesome (exterior, interior or performance) - feel free to make suggestions. Really want the car to a top performer all around w/out sacrificing driveability, etc. My buddy has a 08 C63 AMG, so he's at the top of the list when we got on the track this spring. He might have me beat straight line but the corners are mine.

about a 1/2" from the tires. Cusco's are a little stiffer than stock on the softest setting and get much more stiff as you adjust up. Aside from Japanese only manuals that I can't read and need translating software :) really happy with them.

Re: Future 500hp supercar 08 Lightning Red STI

Just received CF CS Replica Lip Kit today and will be installing on Thursday or Friday at my brother's shop. Once I refigure out how to upload images, I will!

Will do a post on the install but looks like it will be pretty straight forward. Red on Black and CF is just delicious! :)

Re: Future 500hp supercar 08 Lightning Red STI

Down in Portland today at my brother's new shop, Baseline Autoworks and installed the replica Carbon Fiber CS bottom line kit and damn is it sexy!!

Gotta say, this has to be my new favorite mod - it just makes such a big difference. Props to Luis3rd, BillyC and L-Schlegs for the inspiration. Up next is the carbon fiber trunk, hood and wing!

The installation was pretty straight forward with needing just standard tools except for the clip remover but other things could be used to substitute. Total install time was about 1.5 hours. Fitment was decent as one of the sideskirts was maybe 1/10" too small but not really noticeable. Overall SUPER happy considering the cost and the outcome - a great value.

Need suggestions on wheels too! Let me know what you think - am leaning towards black or gunmetal something with fewer spokes, lightweight and 18x9 - thoughts??

Re: 08 Lightning Red STI AEM, Cobb, Cusco, Perrin, Carbon Fiber and more!

Before I left left Portland, stopped by Perrin performance headquarters to check it out and pick up some goodies. Their showroom was pretty cool with a couple of bad ass mini's....

Not STI's but gotta love them.

Also picked up the universal gauge mount, boost gauge, oil temp gauge for the steering wheel/dash and red tail light covers. I'll install the tail light covers this weekend and the gauges probably next weekend - any tips on how streamline the gauge install would be awesome.

Also going to take some better pictures of the car how it is now because it's nice in Seattle this weekend - hate my crappy point and shoot!
