I was under the impression all '06 models came with the plastic mounts, but I could be wrong.
My 06 had a fairy late build date of June 2006 and it had plastic mounts.

06 Sti's, what date did they start reusing the older mounts?
I heard that after a certain production date, Subaru stopped using the crap plastic motor mounts and went back to the metal ones. Does anyone know the exact date when they started doing this for '06 STi?

maybe it had to do with those fluid filled mounts vs. rubber-only mounts? For a while Subaru installed fluid filled engine mounts but decided that was a bad idea when a lot of them started to leak. They ended up replacing all of them with rubber, non-filled engine mounts.
