76 Or Chevron???

I live in California is it true that 76 gas (91oct) is better than Chevron(91oct)? Or are they the same as far as dyno testing is concerned for our STI's

i personally like chevron with techron better than the 76 gas

If 76's were more abundant in my area I'd buy from them. I use Chevron and have never knocked or pinged on their gas. Either company is sufficient because cali 91 pump is crap through and through. :tdown:

I have a good 76 that i like to use, it has the indiviual pumps that dispenses only 91oct.

I dont know if its a myth but, I heard its good to switch fuel brands ever so often. As for me, I rotate from 76 to Chevron 91 after two consecutive oil changes at 2K on each change.

hmm interesting, i always thought that there is a difference between the stations and what they use and stuff. I personally think chevron w/tec. is the best but this one dude told me that there is no difference between costco gas and chevron gas, as long as the octane is the same? Even if thats true i trust chevron over costco lol

i would go with the station that has high quality nossles which shoot only one kind for each octane. as far as 76 or chevron i would with the one that you trust cuz no two 76 stations are the same nor chevron cuz my car runs weird with some gas stations.

Use the one that still has MTBE rather than ethanol in it. More energy. I heard 76 uses ethanol and Chevron uses MTBE but who knows.

Exactly go with the one that dispenses 91 oct only so you ddont get a mix of 87 in there.

Both 76 and Chevron are a Top Tier Gasoline retailer (toptiergas.com),,,you can't go wrong with any of them.

I like the sound of "techron" and Chevron used to have those funny car commericals. Too bad they didn't have a talking STI. Around Sacto, the prices for both are very high so I just go with whichever one I see first.
