I will be taking a trip form Illinois through Wisconsin and Minnesota. My car is tuned for 93. So I need to know from people that live in Wisconsin and Minnesota if 93 octane is readily available at most gas stations. Thank you.

Most stations in MN top out at 92. Some carry 93 but it may take some searching to find it. Super America and BP typically don't have it; Shell and Holiday or some of the smaller places will be your best bet but even then I'd say only maybe 25% of them have it.
Do you know what stations carry it for sure? Shell, Mobil, Exon, anything? I am not sure if I want to drive my car without 93 in it and due the mods I have I cannot flash to a 91 map without having another protune.

I live in Central Wi and travel south to madison and west to MN quite often. Mobil, Shell, BP, Route 66, and Kwik Trip are ones that have 93 for sure. Almost all gas stations have 93. I've come across a few 91/92s but its rare. If you fill up in Chicago and head north and then west through Eau Claire or Menomee, you'll be alright.

Edit: I speak of course for Wisconsin... MN on the other hand has lower octane levels. I suggest filling up in Eau Claire or Memonee when entering MN and then again when leaving.

No place has it for sure at every location. Like I mentioned, Holiday and Shell are the big ones that will be your best bet, but some have it, some don't. You may have to drive around for awhile, but you can find it eventually. Where are you headed in particular?

Otherwise can you do 92 + octane booster if you're in a bind?

Thanks, I guess I will keep my eyes open for Shells and if I have to use 92 then I will just drive like a granny. I am headed up to the Detroit Lakes, its about 200 miles NW of Minneapolis.

So I'm bumping a super old thread, but 93 octane is available at all BP's in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. No other stations carry 93 now. There are some BP's just outside the twin cities that carry 93, but outside of the twin cities, you'll be hard pressed to find 93, usually not even 92.

My questions is what about northern Wisconsin? I'm going fishing up north this weekend and would like to take the STi, but I don't plan on it if I can't find 93. I've found that Wausau carries it, but nothing further north yet...anyone know?

I'm in the Madison area now. I'm originally from Wausau and I go up a few times a year.

I'll sum it up like this: Madison area (Dane County) has 93 octane readily available at most stations. Between Dane County and Wausau (including Wausau itself), you'll find 91 and at best 92 octane. Funny thing is I've been way up north to the Eagle River area to do ice racing, and hey have 93 available there.

If I were you I'd call directly the gas stations where you plan to be around and ask what they have. If no 93, buy a can of Torco Accelerator off Amazon and carry it with you. This is what I do since I drive to all sorts of locations in WI to ice race/auto-x/time attack/HPDE, etc.

You can readily find 93 octane in the more populated parts of WI, namely the south and east parts including but not limited to Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay. In the North and West parts of the state, 93 octane can be harder to find. The farther you are from an interstate or major highway, the harder it will be to find 93 octane, although not all gas stations along 90/94 seem to have 93 octane either.

In short, urban WI? Good to go.
Rural WI? You may need to hunt a bit.
