yup, it’ll be a matter of time :)
Trapping over 120. Nice! STi needs like $10-$15k in mods to do that not including built engine. My stage 2 FBO E85 tuned STi would have maybe trapped 115-116.

Question will the FA24 motor need to be built at that power. I know the transmissions aren’t going to be stout like the STi

Wow, MSRP! Sad to be excited about getting a car at MSRP, but it's the times we live in. What are you going to do?
Still not sure. I might buy it to drive for a little and sell or keep.
When it comes to “tuner” cars nowadays - though there aren’t many true tuners left in the market - I just automatically think OK -$40k plus I’d rather buy another 04-07 STI or MKIV R32, or finally get a evo 8 or 9 that’s stock and low mileage.

I still really really wish we got the Yaris instead

I know it sounds like bullshit but I’ve had so many high performance cars I can almost kind of feel out a transmission after spending time driving and have a rough idea if it can handle power.

This Wrx tranny doesn’t seem like it could.

Not sure if anyone is interested in hearing this but I sold the Wrx. What a shitbox (performance wise) understeer, fuel cut at 6k rpm makes the car fall flat, electric rack makes the steering seem sharp but it is actually not very grippy at all. Very dissapointed in the car - it feels familiar - but once you have to live with it for a month it stinks. Btw the HVAC controls are the worst I’ve ever experienced in a car. 68 degrees felt like 78 , Low AC felt like 70. Never again. I’ll stick to
Buying GD series cars …lesson learned

maybe the new car\used car market is just different now but I can't imagine taking the hit on buying a new car and then selling it a month later.
Lost $190 it was a lease. I had to talk to 10 dealers to get out of it. Subaru dealers were 5k under trade in: carmax saved me on eating a few grand.

one Subaru dealer who I used to buy my STIs from I am friendly with the GM. He told me on the phone in 30 years of running Subaru stores hes never had a issue with any sport impreza selling from the legacy RS turbo to the Impreza RS, etc etc, he said they can’t give away the WRXs they have and they are telling Subaru of New England to stop allocating them cars. He told me these are the only WRXs that sit more than 1 month unsold he can ever remember having, aside from the yellow bugeyes. Subaru is screwed

Hope you enjoy that new GRC. I see so many 2022+ VB WRXs on the lot EVERYWHERE. I don't recall seeing this many GD/GR/VA WRX's on the lot ever.
But yeah... regardless of how flat the torque curve is..6K redline is not my idea of fun, especially in an MT car. If you have CVT then yeah... it really doesn't matter where the redline is I guess.

Even my shit EJ257 revs to 7K, and I feel like I could use more. I think GRC's 1.6L revs to 7200 rpm right?

I'm still keeping my 06 STI, but definitely interested in picking up a GRC in Ice cap white, OR the new Integra Type S to keep miles off it.
