Ok, was able to put on the axleback (5" muffler with 3.5 double wall tips) this weekend. WOW. Love the sound and the deeper rumble. Cold start is quite a bit louder but calms down once it warms up. I'm also glad i ended up buying their bushings as they were a bit shorter and stiffer. I love it so far...will report back for a more longer time review. The deeper tone is more pleasant in the cabin than the mid range drone for the stock system IMO. Def. have to have the music turned up more to hear it. Speakers suck in the car anyway...so would rather hear the rumble!

Welcome to Team Nameless! Pro tip — rev matched downshifts get some pretty nice pops out of this exhaust!
Haha thanks. Really does make the downshifts more fun. One thing is, I think i was so busy in trying to get the axleback on that I didn't take enough time to try to get them centered which is bothering me cause I am OCD about that stuff. Read that you kinda need two people; one to position the tips in the center while it is loose and then tighten it up with someone holding it up in the right position. I have installed it with the nameless hangers/bushings too. Any other advice from getting it centered properly? Seems like both tips are sitting more to the outside of the space of the exhaust opening and hanging bit lower (obviously I read all the forums about the hanging low issue, but the "2 person" install method should help).

What I did was disconnect the exhaust from the rear-most hangar and gently bend the hangar mount upwards and backwards (toward the front of the car). It only takes a slight adjustment in the mount to get the tips to move up.

IMO, there are definitely some fitment issues with the axleback from the stock which requires some bending and fine tuning. Their bushings help a bit on height but still is a struggle. almost like the stock y pipe is a bit too wide and needs to be pushed together slightly to get it centered. Hangers need to be bent to get it higher.

I didnt want to bend anything. Did notice if you dont get the mid pipe right the rest will be off. I got it to the point that the left side outer tip is a tiny bit higher than the the right side but its good enough.

Just got the 4 inch double wall tip muffler delete. Got it from a guy that had it on a WRX for a week, so 200 bucks less than retail and no wait. I had no alignment issues, they centered up easily. Quality is good, except the gaskets are too thin, yes I did take the stock donut gaskets out. Sounds awesome.

I have my 4" double wall tip muffler deletes listed in for sale for 350 shipped. They have 6000 miles and still are like new. For 15 to 18 STI without the factory spt system, or 15-20 wrx. They make it sound like an STI should. Don't know why anyone would bother with the muffled version.

Per-"Don't know why anyone would bother with the muffled version."

Actually, I am one of the many who like the sound of the 5" better. Am quite sure my neighbors and spouse will too. To each their own is my saying. Glad we each get options to suit our tastes.

Good luck with your sale.
