Question:

What is the zero to 60 times with say Cobb Stage 2 tuning.
Downpipe...possible CAI and custom Access Port Tune.

I want to approach my previous cars zero to 60 times....not sure I will ever get there..
I had a modified ford cobra terminator at about 510hp/518tq. I think stock the termintaor did like 4.6 or 4.5 ..modied I was closer to the 4.0 range.

I want to get down in the 4's for sure...

Thanks!

Eric

There are too many variables to give you a definite answer. That is, the tune, driver, and conditions.

I'll be honest with you, if you're buying this car for 0-60 times - This car isn't the right one.

4's are doable though...

ya sadly the cars with dual clutch autos and paddle shifters are gonna be the fastest 0-60 but you can extrapolate a few launches and see that 4's are easily possible. And get a pro tune if you're looking to get the best out of your components/mods

Ouch yeah after these comments I got the crap scared out of me this morning!

Mind you I have like 2,800 on the car at this point. I have changed my oil 4 times now.

150 miles, 500 miles 1000 miles and again at 2000.

I went to start my car up and the Check Engine light was on...the traction light was on and the S mode was flashing and cruise control light was flashing.

I was like WTF....

I immediately checked under the car..not drips..nothing out of place...it all looked good.

So I read a few posts and people were saying it could be:

The fuel cap not on all the way...
Or
You red lined your car and its complaining loudly at you to please stop that.

So I know that was running up some back road hills and yeah I did see the light flash briefly yesterday. But I got out of the gas quickly.

I have an Access Port for my 2012 STI so I plugged it in...started the car up..went to diagnostics.
And even though all the visual indicators were still there ("flashing cruise..traction control light and S mode flashing") zip nothing..no error codes what so ever found.

Puzzled I turned the car off waited 10 sec..started it back up. Zip nada no diagnostic codes.
I made sure the fuel cap was on solid by giving it a twist to get the snap sound. Went back in...started the car up again..this time clearing the ECU fault codes.

Waited the obligatory 10 secs...in off ..I could hear a weird snap sound in the lower passenger side under the glove compartment box area..."solenoid perhaps?"

Started it up...all back to normal.

Note: not sure this matters but my drive way has a slight incline...well decent enough. I'm not sure if this would have any affect. My wife's 2012 Acura TL gets the garage I'm out in the rain ><.

LOL that is too funny.

My other cars I was looking at were the:

BMW I35is (dual clutch paddle shift)

or the BEAST MODE

Ford Boss 302

Either of those cars I would have been happy with. But honestly the driving experience of the Subaru is simply awesome. I LOVE the sound of the Boxter engine. I wish I could get more of that!

The handling is amazing compared to my old cobra the "lead sled". I love the community of the Subaru owners the props on the road its awesome. No I love this car..I just wanted some feedback on if its even possible to get these cares in the high 3.9s or low 4s.

And after watching some videos of dudes blowing out their transmissions doing launches I definitely don't do that. So the access port features of flat foot shifting and launch control..yeah I don't use those..for fear of destroying the transmission.

Thank you :p

And no I am not looking for 0 to 60 I had that in the past. But this one is more refined and is a helluva lot funner to drive.

Low 4's would be awesome!

I think it's definitely driver ability as far a 0-60. However, as other's have said, with the AWD system, be careful how hard you're launching because that's definitely gonna put some wear and tear on the parts.

Also, I believe the STI with it's 6 speed will require 2 shifts to get to 60 (third gear) while the WRX 5 speed will only require 1 shift (second gear). With this in mind, I would imagine an equally modded WRX should reach 60 first. However, after that, things should even out.

Regardless, as was mentioned above, if you're about 0-60, you probably bought the wrong car.

0-60 times are for kids. Just enjoy your car in the turns where it was designed to excel not street racing.

As for redlining it there's really no point just short shift it at 6K as it dies after that anyways and you'll just be flogging it unnecessarily.

You've seen videos of people blowing out an sti transmission doing launches ?

I've seen consistent 3.9's on a Stage 2 GR STi. If the mods are tuned correctly and fuel is optimum - it's the driver and shift points that crack the 4 second mark. But it's very doable.

These cars crack 4.5 right off the lot don't forget.
