I want flames out of the exhaust!!! help

Hi there,

so I'm about ready to go stage 2. I have SPT CB, and I bought COBB AP from perrin with their OTS map. I also have HKS SSQ bov, that I bought recerc kit for (car came with bov, people told me to either switch to stock or recerculate it. recirc kit was cheaper than stock bpv).

Now, I have seen an STI throw flames out of exhaust. As I understand it's from running rich and a dp.
1. does it have to be a catless DP?
2. Can I throw flames with SPT CB?
3. Do I have to make my BOV went out?
4. Is all of this bad?
5. Perrin told me that if I buy their DP, they will throw in their stg 2 map... is that a good deal? their DP is pricey, and catted... but they throw in a map... I know a protune is prob better, but I don't have finances for that now.
6. What DP do you have? I don't want to be too loud...

sorry, I know these are rice questions... I'm not a rice person, but this is one of those things that I think are cool... I guess I just remember being young and seeing old muscles throw flames out... Now if I got a chance doing that, I don't want to pass up...

The Man, "Kevin" has flames shooting out of his GR STi... Copy his mods and have fun;)

get a relatively rich tune, a very low ignition timing or overthighten your knock sensor and you will get that flames that you wanted when you release your gas pedal.

if you want flames during acceleration or when you push your gas pedal, add some nitromethane to your fuel. or you can do both over rich tune with very low timing and add some nitromethane to your fuel and you get spectacular flames on your exhaust :tup:

It's very important you follow my instructions to the letter if you want flames!!!

STEP 1: Get yourself one of these bad boys full of your choice of flammable liquid!

Step 2: Then get yourself some of these!!!

Step 3: Now here comes the tricky part...pour the flammable liquid all over the vehicle that you wish to be seen "shooting flames"...don't be afraid to get some on yourself, it improves the overall outcome.

Step 4: Now strike your match and watch your flames...they sure are pretty.

Seriously tho'...I have a catless downpipe, 100% meth injection and a custom tune...that'll get you 5 foot flames if you want them.

lol some of these are funny.

ok, so i can get them with the catless dp and SPT CB... I was just unsure about the design of SPT, if it would let the flames thru. hmm, yea with bov to vent I'm sure i'll get backfires, but I hate how the car runs and jerks, so i just bough a recirc kit so now bpv.... hmm, one thing thou, someone said you can't even tune for BOV, is that right?

I was under impression that subies run rich no matter what, thus flames depend on exhaust system... so if u naturally run rich, I don't see it being that bad for the car.... I don't want to be all stupid about it and throw my tune off... Main thing to me with stg 2 is getting power and reliability, all else is second, and if i can get the fireballs, then i'm going for it...

anyone has perrin stg 2 OTS map? how do you like it?

I see I have a secret friend, I too wanted to shoot flames for my ricer side. According to my friends and occasional vids I shoot some big ones every now and then. I recommend the following parts

P&L Catless TBE
Any sort of BOV
and make sure you have the proper tuning for the exhaust, bov doesnt need tuning.

lol any sti with a catless down will shoot flames, some more than others, my car does it all the time and i get scared when i am driving infront of a cops because it shoots flames at pretty much any rpm and sometimes when i let off the trottle, be careful what you wish..because it will get you pulled over, plus u dont want to be like me shifting at 2000rpms to prevent a fireball from exiting my exhaust..
