Will prior year STi seats fit in the GR?

I was looking around and saw someone selling some 04 seats and then I thought..hmmm.. I wonder....

Does anyone know? direct swap maybe? (guessing not, but man that would be sweet)

since the '08s fit in prev. gens, my guess is yes

With the correct rails pretty much any seat can be swapped to any car these days wether you need to mod it a tad or not...Not sure if the 04' seat rails are the same as 08', but either way you can make it work (people have swapped evo x seats into there STi's)

maybe someoen will chime in who has experienced this

If you are talking about bolt-on, then the answer is no.

My buddy had to cut of the bracket and weld new bracket in order to bolt on the 04-07's JDM recaro.

Thanks, guys. Decided to just order one Sparco Chrono Road seat with all brackets and sliders from Oakos for under $700 shipped :beer:

I'd like to find out as well, I'd really like to get a set of v8's into my car. Is there a bracket I could buy to make the seats bolt in or is going to require modification?

Any help is appreciated!

You just need to use the correct rails. I'm not sure but it may be possible that the GRB rails bolt right up to the GD ones. Or get a drill and voila!

If the rails just swap over that would definitely make things simple, I actually though of that and might try to see how things line up with a friends WRX.

I know people have had success with aftermarket seats and drilling new holes in the bases and brackets to get them to fit, but without knowing how things line up from the GD to GR I don't want to rely on that as my solution.

Will prior year STi seats fit in the GR?
