I recently purchased the SPT Lower "H" Chassis Brace and installed it.

I have to say I am surprised how much it helped. I have allot done to my car and I figured that adding some small aluminum brace would not help much... wrong .

I have a 04 STi... WRB :)
- full TIC shifting bushings bundle
- Group N top hats
- Group N tranny mount
- ALK
- 24mm Sways on hard
- SPT H Brace
- RCE yellow springs
- TIC cowling brace/ fender brace
- Steering rack bushings
- Cusco rear brace (the one for mounting the diffuser)

I can say the steering is much more responsive and sharp. Almost as much as doing the steering rack bushings. The car feels more resistant to body roll, but not like driving a car with a huge sway. A huge sway caused the car's left and right suspention to act more in unison making bumps hit on the right affect the left... the H brace does not do this though.
It provides the extra stiffness needed to the subframe without upsetting the independent nature of the car's suspention.

I cant believe I waited so long to do this. A+ mod for our cars and not snake oil like some of the many Cusco braces (like the rear brace I have that make no noticeable difference.) :crying:

I installed my NRG laddar brace a few months ago, and I agree with your review.. Better turn in response and worth the $70 I paid for it. I would also like to point out, that in MY 04 it stopped some rattles and creaking.

Did you have to build spacers of some sort for the brace to fit...since you say you have ALK's I had a GT Spec unit and it had to be removed after the ALK's and I had to use a straight bar type brace. I didnt want to space it out.

With an 04 how many spacers do guys end up with extra? I know on my 05 I used up every single one.

Fit fine, and my ALK is not affected or different in any way... just bolt the H brace up.

I cant remember if I used all the spacers... did the ALK a long time ago.

Do you have a picture of how you installed this? Is the brace below the sub-frame or above it?

I have WL ALK and have this brace but yet to install it. curious to know how this and spacers were delt with, if at all. thanks
A pic of it installed is here: World One Performance - Subaru :: Impreza WRX 02-03 :: Suspension :: Bars and Braces :: GTSPEC 4 Points Ladder Brace for 02+ Impreza

Subframe is closer to the car, the brace is just bolted right up to the subframe. ALK is EASY to work with when putting the H brace on... literally it just a matter of using the provided alk spacers with the brace.
