I finally got around to installing the APR brake duct cooling system. What a pain in the ass the whole process was, but it's finally in. God damn, that carbon fiber looks so good though.

First I was given two passenger side backing plates, which took about a month to replace. I didn't realize I was given two of the same side until I had the whole car apart. Once I finally got them, I found out that because I have thicker rotors, I had to grind and cut the carbon fiber backing plates to fit from preventing from rubbing. Once that was finally done I found out that the silicone hose is sitting directly on my header flange. I wrapped that side of the header in a heat wrap and it's been smoking for the past couple days. I'm so concerned about the amount of smoke, I went out an bought an Auto/Marine Fire Extinguisher and keep it within an arms reach. Once the smoke eases off a little bit I want to see if the silicone hose is showing any signs of melting or other heat related issue(s).

I'll be stopping into Cobb (to their surprise) in a couple weeks to discuss engine upgrades for the next phase of upgrades.

Sixth, with the help of the local Subaru community members and some coaxing with money, I finally got around to getting them to install the Morimoto Demon Eye, Morimoto Angel Eye, and the Morimoto C-Light Switchbacks hooked up and working perfectly. While the headlight was open, I installed blacked out orange side markers to get rid of the last bit of orange on the car
Can you enlighten me on how you went about installing these angel eyes? Any trouble from the police? Price? Thanks

Well, my engine finally shit itself with very loud audible rod knock. I'm in the process of buying a new block with forged internals along with a few other goodies.

Case: IAG Extreme Stage 4
Pistons: Manley Extreme Duty with Upgraded Wrist Pins
Rods: Manley Turbo-Tuff Tri-Beam Rods with ARP 625+ Rod Bolts
Bearings: ACL Main and Rod Bearings
Crank: Manley Extreme 79MM Crankshaft
Head Studs: ARP 14MM Headstuds
Headgasket: Fire-Seal Gasket
Valves: Supertech +5MM Valves
Camshafts: Kelford R-220C
Springs and Retainers: Kelford Race Series Springs and Retainer Set
Oil Pan/Baffle/Intake: Killer B Package
Intake Manifold: AMS Manifold
Turbo: Precision 3870 with ETS Rotated Turbo Kit
FMIC: ETS Front Mount Intercooler

Once I get this installed and I'm up and running (and I've got few more dollars in the bank) I'm going to focus on fuel upgrades to dial in the true power this thing will be capable of. I'm hoping for 450-500hp at first, and think 800-1000 is obtainable once I get fueling upgrades in place.

I got 36,000 miles out of the car, and about 29,500 after the I put in all the major upgrades which is when I got the Dom 1.5 thrown in. The turbo is still is good condition, (from what I can tell right now), but going to bigger turbo (4" inlet) should allow me to put it up for sale somewhere, or keep it tucked away incase I want to throw it back on.

The tune happened last week, but the Clutch seized up. I guess the clutch was manufactured too big which rubbed against the pressure plate and the resulting rub caused the ceramic disc to gum up the whole thing. JR couldn't get the car in/out of gear, which ended the day on the dyno. We got 457hp and 397ft lbs before she seized. I've replaced the clutch with an ACT 6-puck for the time being until I can get Competition Clutch to get me a new twin ceramic disc clutch under warranty. Next time JR is in town we will schedule the rest of the pump gas tune and then roll into the e85 tune for the big power. I can't wait.
