Default I come to the court humble seeking support

I have a 2005 FXT wait come back its not like that...
I had a motor failure and had a local shop with a good rep and builder at the time build an engine. High points, STI crank, Forged pistons and rods, the + size ARP head studs, heads done with valves, springs, retainers and 272 cams. 1000cc top feed injector conversion 320lph DW pump and STI intake manifold. Rotated Precision 5558 Gen 2 V band in and out as well as all pipe work and a front mount. This setup made 359hp on a Mustang Dyno and the motor builder said it was good for 550 to 600hp as built. They point the finger firmly at the 4EAT.

Well the 4EAT has died and the 9 month old Precision is leaking oil into the hot side and has shaft play. I have taken the car to a local shop that has Subaru trans exp and have decided to swap in a 6 speed. I cant trust a "built" auto as I cant find one I am willing to roll the dice on for the cost involved. This brings me to my problems. Precision wont accept any return paid or warranty with out an RMA number they provide. Myself and the shop with the car have been calling and emailing with no reply so Precisions support is suspect.

The current shop says ditch the Precision and get a Garrett they are tired of dealing with it and the quality in my case has not been so great. The issue is what Garrett as he says the GTX3076 Gen 2 would be the closest replacement to the 5558 Gen 2 from Precision. The internets tell me I should go to a GTX3576 or 82. The other issue is the clutch. I have an artificial knee so I cant live with a dump truck clutch. The shop wants a SouthBend stage 3 drag clutch and I am not so sure. This is just a street car that might go to the strip once a year if at all or a roll race just for fun. These are very rare and not high on my list. I hope to get as close to 500hp as I can on 93 as I dont have access to E85. The cars current tune was done to try and spare the trans and keep it alive with 17psi. So between the auto slipping when run and the boost not being too high I am hoping there is more HP there I can tease out. So I need turbo and clutch advice if any one is willing..

Thank you for taking the time and cheers.

look at the hydraulic setup, you can change valving to make the clutch easier...or do more research on finding an auto that can be built up!

Never owned or even driven one, but that's what multi-plate clutches provide - high torque rating for relatively little pedal force?

they are still higher effort than stock so that wouldn't help his leg issue

the Southbend clutches are supposedly only slightly firmer than stock due to the pressure plate, so their recommendation is stout. Roll racing isn't too hard on the clutch compared to drag racing, but YMMV.

So the real question is 500 chp or 500 whp?

if you want 500 whp, I'd go 3576 over the 3076.

I am not handicap by any means but a dump truck clutch in traffic will take a toll quick. I have been looking at maps on Garrett site and the GTX3076R V2 looks the best fit for 500 at the crank. Pressure ratio of 2.36 would be the 20psi mark I would shoot for at 50lbs/min. That would spool to 20psi with 23lbs/min and the car should make that at around 3500rpm and be around 74.5% ef. But I did just start reading compressor maps a few days ago so hey I could be off by a mile.

Search Killer Bees posts that mention them both with the the. If I remember correctly he's and others have found no downside to 35xx over the 30xx. I do know builds using them are not uncommon these days.

You can get nearly 500 BHP with a Bloch 1.5XTR or 20G, say just below 480 which is what Blouch claims for the !.5. That means 350 - 400 AWHP on pump and depending on "everything". The 35xx should get get you far more if set up properly.

Here's one:

IAG Built| HTA86| >500whp| Daily driven for 150,000 miles

Its looking like a GTX3576R Gen2 and a south bend stage 3 Endurance clutch. Shop is sure they can work with the hydro system to make it work for me. South Bend seemed to agree when I called them direct.
