Comments:
Upgrading from COBB stage 2 required more holistic approach. Initially I wanted to stay away from FMIC for many reasons and my goal was to have similar or better than stock spool for my daily driver.

Having said this my stock STI TMIC quicly was identified as a major bottleneck after correcting things with the air inflow. By this i mean that with Dom 2.5 you would find stock Turbo inlet and intake to be very restrictive. Also I felt that I could have improved airflow further and squeeze another 15hp or so from this particular turbo by removing TGVs. Most critically with this setup I am pushing so much hot air that to keep detonation away and eliminate knock I had to consider either 1) better than stock Intercooler or 2) Chemical intercooling (i.e Meth injection). I went 100% Meth route....for short-term peace of mind...To realize max potential of DOM 2.5 I still would benefit from FMIC setup...

Very nice! Im looking for similar numbers with my set-up (APS TMIC, GT3071, Water/meth). Your numbers give me hope, lol. How is the spool with your 2.5r? I feel the same way you do about spool, Im gonna stay TMIC just for that reason. Plus the FMIC just screams "pull me over".

The spool was bettter than stock VF39 + Cobb stage 2 with this setup! That one was probably coming in at 350 rpms sooner than OEM....Inlet and 70mm CAI make a huge difference and are restrictive with rather large turbo...
Now with better up-pipe, tgv deletes and phenolic spacers, but most importantly with COSWORTH Intake Manifold...I hope the "lag" will be minimized only further and spool would come quicker yet.

happen to have an rpm based dyno plot? mph is hard to determine when the turbo is really spooling on the dyno.

*edit*

there really is so little spool information on this turbo and mixed results. It seems you have good results but no spool information (rpm plot)

I'm at work so I can't see the dyno. Numbers seem impressive though for that setup. What did your stage 2 setup put down on that dyno?

I've been planning to go with a Dom3 for a while, but this turbo is making me think twice.

Unfortunately I never got to dyno the car at stage 2 before dom 2.5 was swapped. It was basic COBB stage 2 map so I assume it was close to 290 -300 to the wheels. Stock one puts about 240 on that dyno.

I def will get RPM based plot once TGV deletes, Grimmspeed uppipe, Cosworth Intake manifold, Phenolic spacers, and APS DR525 are completed.

All I can say at this point is that spool on Dom 2.5 is definetly percieved quicker than on stock VF. At least its on par with stock turbo + Cobb stage 2 (which feels to me coming about 300 rmps sooner than stock).
