Some awesome cars in this thread. I'm fortunate that I still have my first... a 92 Legend coupe. I pretty much rebuilt the entire car, new engine, swapped to a 5spd, coils, sways, new interior, brakes, yada yada yada. Planning on swapping to a 3.5 motor, 6spd trans, and LSD this winter. It's still slow but I like it
Also probably picking up an AP1 this spring... can you tell I'm a Honda guy at heart?
(old wheels)
And still have this POS waiting for me to fix it up when I have time...
I'm an old guy so I have had a lot of cars a mustang, corvettes, 3 Lexus to name a few but the best before my 2 STI's was when I ordered my 2004 LSB E46 M3.
Pics of my past 3 cars listed in order before my 09 STi:
2002 Spyder
(owned for ~2yrs) TS front bumper and learned NEVER get a fiberglass bumper again...
2005 Elise
(owned for just a little over 1yr) But put 20k mi on it, my back will never be the same Most exciting car I ever owned, but a waste here in Florida with its flat straight roads.
Then needed to free up funds to buy a house closer to work so bought one of the most fun cars for under $4k.
1994 MR2 N/A
(owned for ~2yrs) Sold with 120k mi and was absoluelty perfect and stock down to the airbox. Super rare! First car I ever sold for a profit
I've now owned my STi way longer than any car (7yrs soon) and love it more every day.
I wasn't going to post in here... then I saw the Spec V's.
**Not pictured:
1994 Isuzu Pickup Truck 5mt (first vehicle)
1992 Geo Storm 5mt (2nd vehicle)
2003 Hyundai Elantra GT Hatchback (lol. after I sold my 09 Civic Si, in between my 07 350z)
**First car I ever purchased: 03 Sentra SER Spec V
I've had a short list of cars in the 20+ years I've been driving.
1970 VW Bug
1995 Eagle Talon
2000 Sentra SE
2014 STI
The Sentra was my baby. Had her for 14 years and 180k. Boosted her, and pretty much touched every part of the car somehow. She put down 337whp, and 333trq at 15psi.
The screaming chicken was my favorite car when I was a little kid in the late 70's. It was my first hot wheels car I got then. I still want one to this day.
Got carried away on a lot of corners of this car but it was the first car I ever modified.
2001 Impreza RS
This was my first Subaru. Had big plans that never came to fruition...decided it would be better to sell and buy something turbo charged.
2000 Audi S4
This one lasted about 8mo. Decided to sell because it was a little more complex than I really had the time for...after working on Jap cars I found it cumbersome.
2005 WRX SportWagon
First car that made it to stage 3. Lots of time and love put into her. Sold for the LGT below as it was a more cost effective car...or so I thought. Lol
2005 Legacy GT
Poured way too much of my time into this car. Bought blown up and revived. She's out in Chicago now and I believe the new owner will carry the torch well.
2009 STi Hatch
The latest. Needed something with the hatch after the kid mod. The extra room for work was a must buy we're starting over under the hood...what can you do. Lol
Same here! My very first car at 16 was a white '85 Camaro exactly like the picture you posted (minus the colorful vinyl side graphics, of course). Only thing I did was install Z28 wheels, wider tires, and drove the snot out of it until 1992. Lots of great memories made in and with that car. It's a good thing cars don't give up their secrets!
