Default Make it fast, Make it black!

Here she is on April 23, 2012 when I first brought her home. My goal is "Make it fast, Make it black". I traded in my '01 BMW 330ci because I was bored with how slow it was. I watch a lot of racing and I new exactly what I wanted. So I walked in to the dealer threw down the deposit and told him what I wanted.

I held myself back for the first 2 years from doing any performance mods, but know I kick myself for waiting so long. I've done a few cosmetic upgrades and a couple of performance mods now, with plenty more to come.

What she looks like in January 2015

Guess I'll just get down to itand start posting what I've done over the last 2 1/2 years. First up was interior lighting. I replaced all the interior lights with red LEDs that I bought from some random company on ebay (dome light, map lights and cargo area). Then I did the usual Subaru Footwell illumination kit, and changed out the left over red light from the cigarette lighter compartment with the nasty amber light in the glove box. So now it feels like I'm in the Red October at night.

The Subaru footwell kit was actually a lot easier than I thought once you get the wires passed behind the dash.

After that I decided to install the SPT boost gauge. I know a lot of people on here hate it, but it matches and it's plug and play. Worst part was getting the tube through the firewall. Just flat out awkward hanging upside down in your driver's seat.

On May 27, 2014 I finally got around to taking her up to TopSpeed Atlanta to have her tuned up and install the SPT Catback exhaust and Perrin Catted DP. Those guys are genius'. Just adding those two things and a tune from Doug and she's hitting 302awhp and 356ft/lb torque at around 18.7psi.

Can't wait for the next round later this year.

Here's the dynosheet.

looks great. you have the same goals as I do for the car. black it out I want to see it .
I'll be painting my exhaust shields or what ever they are soon. side emblems, tail lights & there isn't much else left. I haven't seen a blacked out hatch yet.

Added the grillcraft upper and lower grill covers. They really look nice. Not sure why they don't come with a lower grill cover from the factory since nobody really wants anything to go smashing into the radiator or the compressor. Wanted to install the one for the hood scoop but didn't want to sacrifice air flow.

Then I replaced the silver fender garnish for the black STI special edition set. I don't know why these don't come standard on the black STi.

Was riding around one day and got cut off, so I honked the horn, didn't seem like the guy could even hear it. So I sought to remedy the feeble little horn this car comes with.

Awwwww, look at that tiny little horn in there.......... IT MUST GO!!!!

Install complete. Super easy and maybe took an hour. Everything tucked away very nicely. Can just barely make the horns out in my earlier picture with the new grills. 118Dbs of pure awesomeness!!!!!

And then I had to get rid of those hideous orange rear turn signal bulbs.

Before. Yuck!

After: Hooray!!!!
