Default Re: 2008 JDM Sti - Power Steeringg Belt Snapped!!

Back in business! Nice thick Sti V belt, let's hope it holds, old one was pretty crusty. It was an interesting trip from my house to the workshop with no power steering, nice little arm workout, and no alternator. At the end of the 5 min journey I had no dash, gauges or ignition, battery was almost completely flat!

My shipment from Prime Smy is nearly here!

Left New York, USA on Monday, arrived New Zealand today. 4 Day international freight service travelling over 9000 miles is not too bad!

As always really impressed with SMY Performance's service!

Short Clip of Harry's Laptimer Video overlay. I have the accelerometer settings backwards, now fixed in settings for next time. Disclaimer: I am not the driver.

Rockblockers. (Any tips for putting these on?)
Excited to get these installed, as well as the
Setrab Oil Cooler, MRP Sandwich plate and oil cooler Mount.
Lambda Sensor connected to ECU for Fuel Trims
Oil Temperature sensor to ECU
Ducting for Intercooler and Radiator.
Conversion to Parrallel Fuel Rails
Will get an oil change at the same time.

To reduce heat soak and ease of ducting to the oil cooler, we have decided to front mount the oil cooler and change to a Setrab Series 6 Wide 13 Row Oil Cooler. There was not enough room with the intercooler piping and the AOS on top. Front mounting it where the fog light was.

Possible could have rotated the manifold, revised the intercooler piping, to make room, but would have had to remove the ac condensor (also to free room for radiator/intercooler), not ready for that, (also heat soak factor) as I still daily drive.

Definately, want to somehow have a fast trackday car i can daily with aircon Will be a lot more tracktime and videos coming up when the new season starts.

E&H found the exhaust manifold gaskit was leaking, this will be replaced, and one of the Manifold to Head studs had stripped, they will put in a Helicoil to hold (supposedly stronger?).

I had a panic moment thinking it was the main head studs, and immediately though 14mm here we come, but thankfully it wasn't. Eventually want to go closed deck and 14mm headstuds, for a high reving ej20 and maybe even a efr8374 or bigger.

Default Re: '08 JDM Sti - Oil Cooler & Fuel Rails done, Dyno check.. Radiator Shroud?

Oil Cooler setup was finished yesterday and primed, fuel rails and radiator installed, as well as oil temp sensor and lamda sensor. Going to run it up on the Dyno to check everything is okay today and trim fuel cylinders if needed as converted to parallel. May have to get a power run done

Another topic, how effective are radiator shrouds in assisting cooling? Been recommended to get one. Also trying to think of what else I should add to my order to make the freight worthwhile as it will come from the USA again, suggestions welcome.

Radiator Shroud for 2008-2014 WRX/STI
