New grill, all painted obp, powder coated mesh, and looking sexy.

Thinking about doing the red pinstripe and sti badge on the front grill in the same location it was stock.

Gonna add some more epoxy in the back where the mesh meets the frame; the bodyshop did not use enough in my esteem.

Alex,

That looks really good

If I may propose an idea...

Install as so before pin-stripping and adding STi logo

Take a few steps back ... and take the overall effect all in

Edit: Especially with some red, or black Hellas in there ( Parts list )

I think you'll be surprised

That is what I was thinking.

It's just so much easier to do those things now while the grill is not attached.

On the other hand it might look better without.

The red hellas will look very nice indeed, the pinstripe and sti logo might make it too busy.

Now I'm even more indecisive on this. Thnx!

Why are you hesitant to roll the rear fenders?

I skimmed through the journal so i apologize if I missed these already.
1.) what's your racing plans for the car?
2.) how many miles are you looking to get out of the tires?
3.) budget?

We'll figure this out.

Thnx for the input, seems like word on the street is you are the specialist on this in these parts

I am less hesitant to roll fenders now that I have learnt more about it. Learning as I go here, and didn't know anything about rolling really until recently.

1-Only street, at least until I do an engine rebuild (in at least 1 year), then some mild tracking
2-1 summer, 1.5 or 2 if im lucky. The stock dunlops lasted me 2 summers, and the re-11a seem better on all fronts
3-$4k ish

With a minor roll we can do lots. With the budget we can do bunch as well.

Shoot me a pm, we'll figure out a setup that will work out, lots of back and forth about wheel type and such better to go via PM.

Tomorrow I get my new stuff installed. Pretty excited:

-DAMD D shaped steering wheel
-whiteline steering rack bushings
-SMY push start/remote start kit
-hta front sport grill
-grillcraft hood scoop grill.

Am also well into researching the next upgrades which will happen in late April: Suspension/wheels/tires.

Teh_Clap has been very helpful in pointing me in the right direction. Steered me away from the air performance suspension. It was sooo nice, but the whole 'regular leaks' issue and constant maintenance/vigilance through harsh winters was a turn off. Need something rugged, that won't demand attention after the install. Also the high price and 1 year warranty was a deterrence.

Here is where I am so far with the April upgrades. This is just a cursory list:

black=99% will acquire
red=still contemplating

1 x Whiteline KDT901 Positive Shift Kit - 2008-2013 Subaru WRX STi
1 x Group N Subaru 6-Speed Transmission Mount
1 x Group N Subaru Engine Mount Set
1 x Kartboy Engine Pitch Stop Mount
1 x Whiteline BSF39XZ 24mm Adjustable Front Sway Bar - 2008-2013 Subaru WRX STi
1 x Whiteline BSR49XZ 22mm Adjustable Rear Sway Bar - 2008-2013 Subaru WRX STi
1 x Kartboy Front and Rear Endlinks Combo - 2008-2013 Subaru WRX STi

1 x Whiteline KCA409 Front Com C Strut Mounts - 2008-2014 Subaru WRX STi
1 x Swift Spec-R Springs - 2008-2013 Subaru WRX STi

(together comes out to $595)

OR ???

1 x ISC Suspension N1 Coilover Kit
($955)

Still need to read more about those coilovers. They seem well reviewed and I like the price; only $400 more for coilovers vs spring setup seems like something worth contemplating.

What has me frustrated is the whole rim offset situation.

-Tire: Re-11a in 265/35/18
-Am OK with rolling fenders.
-Rims??? (in the running are Weds sa-15r, Rota PWR, Enkei Raijin, and a couple others)

Have been reading forever about rims. All I know for certain is that I will need 18x9 or 18x9.5 in a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. The offset, however, has me confused. +30? +45? Still don't know enough about this stuff. Want to order rims soon, as they seem like the hardest thing to acquire in Canada, at least in the whole concave/black/under $1600 criteria.

Will move forward once I get the offset situation figured out

They look real nice.

Apparently stiffer than the group N stuff and kartboy pitchmount.
(by about $60)

Wonder if stiffer than group N, is a good thing.

Will read up on them some more,

Thnx for the link
