The RE71Rs are really responsive tires. Noise is louder, in terms of going over the painted pavement markings. I haven't noticed anything about ride comfort to be honest.

Alright so update time!!! I'm extremely happy to present this update to you. It is definitely one of my favorite updates to share so far!

I had the pleasure to again work with my good friend [email protected] of Bling Polishing, who was responsible for bringing my "Polished" IAG Race Version AOS, and newly acquired ARC TMIC to life again.

Shawn as you know is the best Metal Polisher in Toronto hands down, and I'm super happy to team up with him again have him continue to be part of this long journey with Gabby.

Shawn ensured that this procedure to restore both of my parts was well documented for my journal to share with you all:

Please enjoy the pictures:

Here's my review for [email protected] of Bling Polishing:

Shipping/Packaging: 5/5 ... Shawn personally came by my house for pick-up and drop-off of my parts, and everything was very well packaged when I received the parts to prevent them from getting damaged during the drive to my house.

Overall Experience: 10/10 ... To say I'm happy would be an understatement; rather I am ecstatic with the job that [email protected] of Bling Polishing did for restoring both my ARC TMIC and IAG Race Version Polished AOS! Shawn as always is very professional to deal with, and really cares about ensuring the job is done properly and perfectly each time. His attention to detail is evident as can be seen with the taping job to protect certain areas of the parts. I continue to have the biggest smile on my face with how transformed both of these parts are!

I will always support Shawn as it is evident how much passion and care goes into every job he does! I would highly recommend you get in touch with him for all of your Metal Polishing needs.

For those interested in Shawn's work, below you will find his social media outlets where he can be reached:

I then had my good friend and Head Touge Tuning Mechanic, Justin, come over to install my ARC TMIC and Carbing Titanium Strut Tower.

Enjoy the pictures:

I'm beyond happy with how the engine looks, and I know it's only going to look better when I have the IAG Caps, and all the other engine and cooling components installed!

To conclude this update, I have two teaser pics to share with you all:

As always, thank-you very much for stopping by and stay tuned for next update!

Update Time!!

This update dates back to August. How about we start off with another casualty that my car suffered. I thought the crack in the carbon side skirts from the dealership was the only suffering Gabby would see, but boy was I wrong.

I believe this incident happened back at the first CSCS racing event, where it was super windy. Some guy in an Audi parked really close to me, and his door must've opened and the wind took it right into my baby Gabby. This impact bruised Gabby's ego and left a dent in the front passenger door as a reminder. Fortunately the impact did not go through the paint, or else I would've been heartbroken, as my car is in immaculate shape.

I was referred by my good friends at Auto-Links to get in touch with [email protected] Deron is regarded as the top Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) specialist in Toronto, and a personal friend of the guys at Auto-Links. Deron has been in the industry for over 10 years, and I'm super excited to have him work on my car.

His business model is simple:

- Quick turnaround (1-3 hours typically)
- No paintwork necessary
- No harmful chemicals
- Only specialized tools are used for the PDR

These all checked off in my books, and I hope you enjoy the pictures of the work:

Before:

During:

After:

I'm beyond happy with the job that [email protected] Dent did for my car. He restored the car to its immaculate shape, and there is no sign of dent whatsoever on the door!!

For those in the GTA area, look no further for your Dent-removal inquiries. You can get in touch with Deron via the picture of his car which has all of his best contact methods:

While at Auto-Links, I also got a Pioneer BC6 Rear View Camera, which has been on my list for quite some time. Special thanks goes to Auto-Links for the super clean install. Enjoy the picture of it:

Alright moving on to the teaser picture of the ARC Oil Cap. So my engine bay is in dire need of some titanium hardware to match the titanium theme that I'm going for. I turned my attention to [email protected] Coast Fasteners, who supplies the BEST titanium hardware available on the market. My ARC oil cap would get the first sign of titanium love to go with my titanium Carbing Strut Tower.

Enjoy the pictures:

Later on in August I visited my good friends at Touge Tuning, and wanted to grab a couple of things; let's first start with the Cobb Intercooler Coupler.

So my ARC TMIC is for a GD STi, and doesn't fit perfectly with my stock intercooler coupler. The purpose of purchasing the Cobb one is to have a brand new coupler, and cut it up to shorten the length of it. This project will be done when I get the other engine parts installed.

Enjoy the pictures of it, and special thanks to [email protected] for packaging this up for me:

I think you guys are going to like something else that I purchased at Touge Tuning. It has to do with the direction I've been going towards for the last couple of posts...HANDLING.

I decided to purchase SuperPro Front and Rear Sway Bars (22 front /22 rear) and the Rear Sway Bar Support Brace for my car, which will really help tighten up the car and get it to handle like it's on rails. I plan on running a 23 front and 22 rear sway bar setup, and can only imagine how Gabby will drive when they're installed.

Please enjoy the pictures:

Thanks for stopping by on this shorter update. I'm going to leave a VERY VERY special teaser. When I said big things are coming, BIG things are really coming for Gabby:

Hey guys, I'm back with another update!

This update takes place around mid-September, and addresses those 4 boxes in the last teaser picture.

Before I get started with what exactly they are, I want to give a very special thank-you to my friends Chris and Mike at Touge Tuning for guiding me in the direction to having the ultimate street car with the most Motorsport-inspired parts. That's all I've ever wanted Gabby to be...Tastefully Aggressive. Chris pointed me in the direction to a Canadian company called Mooresport (MSI). They are based out of Quebec and produce some of the finest Motorsport parts for Subarus in the entire world! All of the parts they make are carefully crafted and the attention to details is top-notch.

Something about me that I always strive to achieve in everything I do is the Japanese word Kaizen = Continuous Improvement.
MSI follows this exact principle, and constantly looks for ways to revise their products to make them sturdier, lighter, and ultimately more performance-oriented, as well as looking for new parts to create to improve the Subaru Chassis. I love working with companies like this who are always Forward-Moving!

I went to see [email protected] Tuning to get the ball rolling on this MSI project, and ordered a few parts, as pictured in that previous teaser picture; the parts included in this order are as follows:
  1. MSI Front Motorsports Endlinks (Bearings)...these were purchased to be used in conjunction with my newly acquired SuperPro Sway Bars.
  2. Custom MSI Rear Motorsports Endlinks (Bearings):these are fully custom, as they are not listed on the MSI website, and will be used in conjunction with the rear SuperPro Sway Bar. What's really interesting is that the Tie Rods on these Endlinks are the same ones used on WRC and F1 cars!!!
  3. MSI Billet Toe Arms (Bearings)
  4. MSI Billet Trailing Arms (Bearings)

The links to check these parts out are below:

I hope you enjoy the pictures:

Feel free to check out MSI at these links:

A very special thanks goes to my good friends at Touge Tuning for making me aware of MSI, continuously updating me throughout the entire process of the order, and striving to deliver the best service possible! Be sure to check them out at these links:

To conclude this post, I'm going to leave you all with a couple of teasers:

Update Time!

Before I get started, Happy New Year to you all!

This update will address the teaser pics from the last post, and it takes place at the end of September. I decided to pay a visit to my good friend and owner of Advance Powerhouse (APH), Brian, to get some work done to Gabby. While Gabby doesn't frequent APH often, she always leaves very happy thanks to the APH team.

I wanted to get all of my Cusco Chassis Bracing installed and reap the benefits of a stiffer ride to optimize the feel/tightness of the car without having to go with a roll cage. The list of chassis braces that were installed at APH were:
  1. Cusco Front Lower Arm Bar Type II (CUS 692 477 A)
  2. Cusco Power Brace Crossmember (CUS 692 492 M)
  3. Cusco Power Brace Floor Center (CUS 692 492 C)
  4. Cusco Power Brace Rear Lower (CUS 692 492 R)

A special thank-you again goes to [email protected] for helping me get all of these braces for Gabby!

As always, it's very important to protect these braces with the trifecta combo:
  1. Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant
  2. Collinite 845
  3. Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax

So for those of you interested in protecting any of your braces, or any painted parts you may have, ideally you'd want Opti-coat or CQuartz. I personally don't use any of those as I'm not trained on using it. Instead, I use the above 3, which yield excellent results. To apply the above 3, these were the steps I took:
  1. Clay bar the braces.
  2. First, apply the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant to the braces. Leave it on the braces for 24 hours.
  3. Remove Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant off the braces with a wax-removal microfiber after the 24 hours of curing.
  4. Properly "prep" the Collinite 845 Liquid Wax...more info on how to do this can be found here: Collinite #845: The Definitive How-To Guide For This Legendary Wax
  5. Apply Collinite 845 Liquid Wax to the braces, and let it cure for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove Collinite 845 Liquid Wax off the braces with a wax-removal microfiber after the 45 minutes of curing.
  7. Finally, apply the Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax on the braces. Please note that Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax is a wipe-on, wipe-off type of application.

Here's a picture of them curing:

With all of the braces cured, I packed them up and was off to APH. Once I arrived at APH, I was greeted by Brian and head mechanic Faisal, who owns a track-oriented Hyundai Genesis with a Motec digital dash, Garrett GTX3582r turbo, built motor, etc...all of which yield a whopping 600hp!! Here's a picture of his car... and I'm sure you can tell, Faisal likes Boost lol:

You can see more of this beast on Faisal's instagram account:

Faisal's Instagram

So as you saw in the last teaser picture, Faisal was cutting one of the plastic underpanels to make the Cusco Power Brace Rear Lower fit properly.

Enjoy the pics of that:

With the Cusco Power Brace Rear Lower installed, Faisal continued with installing the rest of the braces:

The end result:

While at APH, I also snagged a couple pics of some of the other cars here:

My personal favourite is Brian's "Asparagus" Mitsubishi Evo MR Edition:

A special thank-you goes to my good friend Brian and my new friend Faisal for the great service and good conversations. I always like to support my friends when I can, and will always continue to support Brian and APH.

Brian always ensures my car is well taken care of, and that the installation is done properly and carefully. Faisal installed all of my braces with care as if it were his own car, and I highly recommend if you are in the Markham area to check out APH for your performance needs. They specialize primarily in JDM cars (Mitsubishis, Nissans, Toyotas, but do still work on Subarus, and even Porsches).

You can check out APH at the following links:

Advance Powerhouse Facebook Page
Advance Powerhouse Instagram

Now the million-dollar question, "Do you notice a difference?" You better believe I notice a difference with all of these braces. The car literally wants to turn in a precise manner. It would probably have been better to test each of these individually, but you'll probably get the best effects with all of them together, so please take my word for it
The car essentially feels like it's on rails. As mentioned, the drive and turn-in feels very precise, kind of like a "point-and-shoot" feel to it. Gabby now takes turns with even more confidence, and transfers that to me through my DAMD Steering Wheel.
Looking back on the purchase, I don't regret purchasing these braces. They are expensive, but they look pretty and do the job when all are used together.

To address the second teaser picture regarding the Top Secret Japan logo, let's address it so that it's no longer Top Secret

So I'm part of a Facebook group specifically for Top Secret Japan-related parts. While I already have the original Auto Staff Japan Titanium Tow Hook, I again really wanted to purchase the Top Secret version...commence the JDM Brand W**** comments I ended up finding one being offered for sale on the group by a gentleman named Tom. Tom is a big car guy (drives an Evo X), who also appreciates rare parts such as these. I got in touch with him to purchase it, and the rest is history! He ensured that the process was smooth, and made me aware throughout the entire process of the purchase. Thank-you very much Tom for giving me the opportunity to purchase my dream tow hook! Glad to have made a friend in the process, and now you will always be a part of my build!

Enjoy the pics:

Thanks for stopping by, all I'm going to say is the best is yet to come, so stay tuned for what's next. Enjoy this teaser from the Mooresport (MSI) team:

Hey everyone, it's time for an update!!

This update dates back to early October. I had a feeling it was going to be an early winter up here in Toronto, so I decided that Gabby would be put away earlier than when I usually put her away (late October).
I headed to the best Subaru shop in Ontario, Touge Tuning, for my oil change and winter prep.

I managed to snag a couple pics of Gabby looking clean as ever and ready to be put to sleep after leaving the shop...enjoy:

If you are anywhere in the GTA, make the trip to see [email protected] Tuning. I can honestly say that if you want the best experience and hands touching your Subaru, you go see them. If you want the best service, you go see them. They are always busy, so I recommend you always email them for any inquiries/requests. They will always be the one shop that Gabby loves the most.

Be sure to check Touge Tuning out at the following links:

Touge Tuning Website
Touge Tuning Facebook Page
Touge Tuning Instagram
Touge Tuning Youtube Channel

While I was at Touge Tuning for Gabby's oil change, I also had to pick up a few more parts that I had ordered; these parts include:
  1. MSI Motorsport Top Mounts
  2. MSI Rear Lateral Links
  3. SuperPro Front Lower Control Arm Bushings (SPF3728K)
  4. SuperPro Front LCA Rear DUROBALL Caster Kit (DURO3738K)

Touge Tuning is the sole distributor of Mooresport (MSI) parts in Canada, and they really stand by the Motorsport parts that MSI creates. These parts are among the most aggressive applications on the market. The competitive advantage with these products is the fact that they are stronger than the competition, much lighter than the competition, and there is a lifetime warranty for manufacturing defects. Touge Tuning continues to help me achieve my goals for having a tastefully aggressive street car, by keeping me informed of cutting-edge companies like MSI who make parts for my car!

Please enjoy pictures of the 4 parts listed above:

Now HOLD UP 1 SECOND!!!

As I paid and was leaving Touge Tuning with these parts, Chris stopped me and said, "Alex, come back in my office, there's a surprise here for you!"

I had absolutely no clue what that could be? Could it be a rotated turbo kit...maybe but probably not Do recall though from last update's teaser picture that there was a box saying "Surprise!"

So I walk back into Chris's office and see a small white box. Still having no clue what it was, and Chris hiding the sticker on the box from me identifying what it was, I opened it carefully and found "Surprise! - Mooresport Team."

At this point I am ecstatic, but still unsure as to what's in there. It honestly felt like an early Christmas surprise, kind of like when I opened my IAG engine bay caps from my sister last Christmas. With great excitement, I went through the wrapping paper, and found MSI's Billet T6-6061 Aluminum Solid Engine Mounts!!!!

These engine mounts are designed for Motorsport-use (Circuit, Drag, Rally), and are not "recommended" for street use...probably due to the NVH.
Why I love MSI so much again goes back to their competitive advantage; they make the most aggressive parts, while also being lighter than the competition. More specifically, I currently have the Beatrush Solid Engine Mounts installed in my car...these are very aggressive (steel with polyurethane bushings). They are also very heavy.
Let's compare the Beatrush Engine Mounts to the MSI ones...MSI weigh 2 pounds...the kicker...they weigh 2 pounds combined!!!! This and them being more aggressive is what seals the deal for me...great work MSI!

These mounts will replace my existing Beatrush ones the same day I get Touge Tuning to install all of the other suspension components.

Enjoy the pictures:

And all of my MSI parts together:

Be sure to check out MSI at the following links:

MSI Website
MSI Facebook Page
MSI Instagram
MSI Youtube Channel

Before I continue any further, I would first and foremost like to give a special thank-you to two parties:

1) Thank-you very much to the Mooresport (MSI) team for this very generous gift of the Solid Engine Mounts. It was an extremely special moment, that I cherish and will never forget, and I hope you know how much I sincerely appreciate it. You will always have me as a client of yours, and an advocate of the awesome parts that you manufacture. Continue to innovate the existing parts and grow the Subaru Motorsports community, because everyone can appreciate the level of workmanship that goes into each and every part created by your team!
2) Thank-you to [email protected] Tuning for all that you do, especially helping to arrange this surprise for me. I'm truly honored to be a client, friend, and advocate of the cornerstone business that you have created. I am truly excited to see Touge Tuning grow as a business and as a leader in the Subaru community, and wish you all of the success in the future.

I'm going to conclude this post with a picture of Gabby all put away for the winter, and a teaser picture for some more attention-to-details parts for my engine bay. Thank-you all for stopping by, and stay tuned for next post
