Default Simpleton's Simple 2011 STI

Aside from some time behind the wheel of my girlfriends Forester or riding shotgun with my brother in his Outback, I am completely new to the world of Subaru. My previous was a 2008 Volkswagen R32 I picked-up straight from port.

The Old: R32

I did some subtle mods including: ECU & DSG flash, intake, coils, upgraded Haldex controller and exhaust. I enjoyed every moment behind the wheel especially during the winters. Odometer read a little over 50k after taking it on a few snowboard trips to Montana and Utah. Over time I guess I just grew tired for the car.

The New: STI

Fortunately there was a Subaru dealership I would walk by every morning on the way to work. Occasionally there would be an STI on the floor. I'd stare. Contemplating replacing the R32 almost every other day for nearly a month. One day I told myself I should at least sit in one and take it for a test drive. I did. Then went straight in to talk about trim options and availability. In the end I decided on the non-limited SWP 5-door. I've told myself to keep the mods to a minimum. We'll see. I'm trying to keep it simple and close to stock.

Hardwired Valentine 1 with BlendMount kit. I know I could have tapped into the dome light but laziness got the best of me.

Tail overlays w/ cutouts. Still looking for some decent license plate LEDs. The bulbs I ordered from v-leds.com were too long and prevented me from putting the bulb covers back on.

If you get racks I recommend the Thule AeroBlades. My girlfriend has the Thule Aero Bars and they whistle. The AeroBlades are quiet and don't require a fairing.

Very nice. I'm in your same boat.

Trying to keep it simple and will be using for occasional snowboarding trips. Am planning the same mods for mine.

Mine is also white but a 4 door.

I chalked up some of that cost as a convenience fee.
