Maybe hes using the 5 spokes for winter tires. I actually like the way they look on the new Sedans

I got all season tires for the 5 spoke rims...i like the 5 spoke look a lot better...planning on using the bbs rims for autocross...

Snow tires need to be narrow with a small diameter to allow them to cut through snow. You don't want a wide tire that floats over snow or requires a lot of force to plow a wider plain to get through the snow. Plus 18's will be heavy and that just requires more force to move. You want torque getting to the snow/Tarmac not being lost trying to rotate a large mass.

225 max width. That is tough to fit on an 18. Also you want the rolling diameter to be small. 16 or 17" rim is better suited.
