Default Roll Cage Prep...Questions

Can anyone confirm or point me in the right direction on how to remove the carpeting and the airbags in the car.

The plan is to remove all of the airbags.

Removing the battery connection to proceed safely.

1) Any best way to remove airbags?

2) How do I dispose of the airbags...or do I try selling them?

3) Any best way to remove carpeting, as I won't be using it?

4) Is there any sound deadening underneath the carpet?

Thanks for your time... I will be taking pictures of the process, and will update this thread...but your help would be much appreciated for all of the above questions.

I've just stripped cars by unconnected/unbolted everything, you can sell on your airbags to smash repair shops, not sure how legit it is though, same for disposal.

I have not stripped out a VA though, should be the same though, no rocket science is involved.

I ran a old Skyline airbag over with a D6, apart from being totally destroyed it did not go bang.

The airbag needs power to deploy so if you disconnect you are sweet, well sweet enough, I always still treat them like bang with an elec det, I've watched some YouTube of idiots setting them off and axing themselves.

Carpet is easy, you just need to take out the whole interior and it pulls out.

Dry ice and a hard rubber lump hammer works a treat on sound deadening, shit burns your skin if your not careful, and wear eye protection. Watch out for your electrics too, dry ice will not differentiate between sound deadening and electrical wire or plastic.

Have fun.

be careful. once shut down your fuel pump becomes a generator for a quick second and puts a little current in the system.

Just kidding...kinda.
