Default Accessport Stolen, insurance advise?

My Accessport was stolen out of my vehicle last night, the car was parked in my garage with the windows down, the garage door didn't go all the way down, or it was somehow opened up. Regardless, I'm going to make a claim with my insurance, I have read that this can be tricky but maybe be possible to get a successful claim. My question is, what should I tell my insurance? I have read saying the least is the best and saying its a "code reader" described as a tool that might help.

Also now what can i do as far as my tune on my car? If i buy a new access port, will i be able to over write the old one?

Any advise is appreciated.

I think I just posted under your build thread about this. File a police report and get a copy to Cobb, they will send you a new AP for a reduced price. Call them, they will help you out. The whole process took 30 min. I was also allowed to file a police report online so that helped. Good luck!

When it comes to insurance company claims....i have found honesty is the best policy. File a police report, inform Cobb of what has happened.

I wasn't looking for a dishonest way to go about the situation, I had read another forum regarding this situation that was pretty dated. Anyway, they were saying using the correct lingo in order to get the claim to go through would help, some people suggested referring to it as a "code reader" instead of a tuner helps.

As it stands, Cobb is aware its stolen, I have given them the serial code to blacklist it. I don't think I'm going to make a claim on this because its such a small dollar amount. I'll just have to take a loss at this point.
